creating a search engine from a database created in excel

is it possible to create a search engine from an excel sheet and put it online?
if yes, how can it be done? (creating the search engine)

You could import it to a Mysql DATABASE and the search on google to create a search for PHP, really it is easy

 

and do i need something special for mySQL?
and how do i import it?
i only have acess to the FTP server.
i'm don't know almost a thing about databases (but do willing to learn) so sorry for this questions.

 

You can try upload it to Google Docs and use the Forms and Scripts functionality to do search.
