Creating a popular product

Why is it that most Clickbank product doesn't seem to sell at all?

When I look at the Marketplace, I often find products with a gravity of "-" which I assume means there haven't been a single sale for a really long time.

I have tried reading the pitch pages of the gravity "-" products, but I can't find anything wrong with them. Some of them do of course stink, but most of them are quite ok.

Many people think that they can create a product then roll in the money from affiliate sales from clickbank.. They soon come to the grim conclusion that getting a product listed is not the golden ticket they been waiting for..

The bottom line is, you need to be able to sell.. When you get your product listed, you have to promote and make sales yourself.

Before you make a product, you need to line up the promotion side of things, and possibly get people who will promote right away for a kick start.. No matter how good the product is, people will be hesitant to sell it if no one else is making sales..

I learned this the hard way with my first product.. Good product, good pitch, no affiliates, and no sales made. I didn't know how to promote it and I was a CB newbie.. As of now, the product lies dead somewhere in hyperspace..

Hmmm... good question. I always thought that the "-" must mean that the seller was using CB only as a credit card processor and not offering affiliate commissions. Guess I was wrong.

In my opinion, you should go for more mainstream affiliate offers through CJ or inhouse programs that have proven conversion rates.

Since 20 gravity is often suggested as the minimum to promote, most affiliates won't even look at anything below 20.

How many sales does it take to bring something above 20 gravity?

    between 20 and infinity :)

each aff sale ads 1 gravity point. each aff can only add 1 point max.

    eg.. aff sale - gravity = 1..

1 day goes by - no aff sale

the gravity would then be .92 or something.

another day, no aff sale - goes to .84

then the same aff makes a sale, gravity goes back to 1

the next day that aff didnt make a sale but another did - gravity = 1.92

    and so on...

I dont see why affs should only concentrate on products over 20 gravity.. a low gravity product could make 500 sales in a day and have a gravity of 1 (or zero)

Different affiliates bring one gravity point each
