Creating a paypal account as a minor to recieve payments for freelance work.

Hi internet, I want to get started with some freelance work in Adobe After Effects after spending the last year or so becoming proficient in it. The only problem is that I'm 16 years old and have no way of receiving payments. As of now, (being a naive and ignorant teen ) I have no idea how banks work and how paypal operates and what their policies are about making accounts. From what I understand, I can somehow make an account with a parent as a signer (whatever that means)? Whether or not my parents will do that is not important. I just need some explanation on how the system works and ultimately how I can receive payments. Thanks in advance! :D

(Also if there is anything else that I should look out for, I would appreciate you telling me!)

Heh dude, I have my paypal since I was 13... All you have to do is lie about your age thats it. I am 15 now btw :)

    Anyway to the point.

1.You need to go to your bank and ask for an youth account since you're underaged.

    2.Ask for a direct de
    posit form

3.Use the numbers that are on the form to confirm your
    paypal account

    4.Congrz you got an account.

Ah, thanks. One question though, do I still need to lie about my age on the paypal account? (this is what I assume you mean)

Yes, thats exactly what you do, paypal does not ask for your ID, but a bank does :).

You should have a Bank account to receive the Paypal earnings transferred to that account. If Bank don't allow you for regular account then there is no use of Paypal account even if you enter your age fake as 18 or above (Note - I am not talking about Bank account for minors that Bank allows, I am talking about a regular bank account). So it is better to have your present account in the name of your parent and connect them to your parent's bank account and when you attain 18yrs, just create another Paypal account and add it to your own bank account.

Really, aren't you youngsters to young for this? Anyway there are a number of ways to withdraw your funds from Paypal without a bank account or Paypal debit card. I have used 5 of these myself so I KNOW they work.
