So I've just launched a new forum [http://earn.fm] and wanted to know if anyone experienced in creating and marketing niche forums had any ideas on how to increase popularity. What's worked for you?
What is your unique marketing point? You need to offer something new, that no other competitor forum is currently offering. Without that- you won't be successful is this, or the majority of other niches. In this day and age, with such steep competition and the revolution of social networks- you need a unique hook. WebDev
The whole 'making money' forum niche is very saturated. I don't see anything that differentiates you from the others.
Forums that actually make money have been in the market for many years, and started at the right time people were looking.... and getting to that level if you dont have anything to bring to the table may take many, many years and still no guarantee....
I have niche forum and blogs: http://www.wood-furniture.biz/forums/ Doesn't matter "Niche Forum" or "General Forum". Always have to do same job: backlinks, social media. It's not easy.
most forum owners lose interest before they ever their first post... most just do not understand the concept; Their are no easy ways to success... (at least most of the time anyway...)
