    I am going to create a new forum and I need an advice.

    1. Should I make a forum phpbb******.com and be a partner with phpbb.com (my site will be listed on international forum support). On that forum I will help other members, posting downloads etc. (everything related to phpbb)

    Or

    2. Should I make a forum ************.com. On that forum I will make phpBB, MyBB, xf, smf, vb, ipb support forum, downloads, requests etc. I would add some other categories like design, fun (music movies etc), business ...

    Well, with option one you'll only be competing against other phpBB websites, however if you go with option 2, then you're not only competing with phpBB, but also MyBB, xf, smf, vb, ipb, forums. It'll likely be a lot easier for you to gain some traction with sticking with the phpBB site :)
