Creating a multi-step download page

Hello! I'm new here. I use Dreamweaver CS4, split between code and design view, to create my pages. I'm fairly well versed in HTML and CSS. I'm trying to create a download page with several options that lead you to other options that you can download. This page is pretty much exactly what I mean: commtech-fastcom(dot)com(slash)CommtechSoftware(dot)html. Sorry about the weird URL, since I'm new, I can't post links yet :p
I realize that it's done in Javascript, but how would I go about implementing that into my page? And would it be better to use a CSS solution?
    Thanks in advance!

to be frank, the problem requires use of javascript (or a javascript framework). You can get somebody to do it... Also, you can make some efforts and get this working using SSI (explained further). That will give you full control over your site.

If you use simple html - create a number of pages

first of all the master categories page
    downloads.html
    ---------------
    books
    toys
    watches
    cosmetics
    .
    .
    .

    then the sublevel categories page
    download-books.html
    --------------------
    superman series
    spiderman series
    he-man series
    shakespearean works
    .
    .
    .
    .

then further final dowload links page
    download-books-superman.html
    --------------------
    superman & his allies
    end of the world
    entire kira-jira series
    superman and the underworld
    superman and a gadgetman
    .
    .
    .
    .

next step you can get your work easier by using server-side includes (shtml)
in an shtml, what you essentially do is split your page into common parts and save each part as a different file. then assemble each file in your shtml.
    http://httpd.apache.org/docs/1.3/howto/ssi.html#includingastandardfooter
    essentially the command
    <!--#include virtual="/footer.html" -->

    HTML:
This was a deviation from what you had asked for, but what you had asked for involves some javascript, infact using a javascript framework like jQuery or Mootools.

PM me for further assisstance / service.

[ps] you can still post url's that are easy to copy-paste-navigate.. :)
