Creating a graphic entry page as an iFrame

I have a website with a front page that is a beautiful picture with text that says "enter". When the user clicks on it, it goes to the main website (which happens to be a WordPress site).

An expert in SEO told me that this graphic front page is not ideal for search engines, since all they see is the image and no contents. Thus, they will not rank this website the way it should be (based on the main website page that visitors see AFTER they click the "enter" link).

It occurred to me that I could place the entry graphic image in an iFrame that was set as a floating layer using a DIV tag; then have the iFrame close when a visitor clicked on it. That way the main page would have content suitable for search engines, but a visitor will see the beautiful entry graphic and click to enter the site.

I set this up, but the problem is that there is a warning message asking for confirmation on closing the (iFrame) window, which is confusing since the visitor actually is intending to view the website by clicking the link.

I saw another thread here that discussed how to close an iFrame from within the frame without getting an error message (http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=582469) but couldn't make it work properly. There was so much discussion on that thread that I'm not sure whether I picked out the right code snippets to make it work.

Could someone please post the code and explain how to set up the iFrame inside a floating DIV layer that shows up when someone first visits the site, then disappears when clicked?

    Two additional notes:
-- Ideally, when people visit other site pages then return to the main page, the iFrame would NOT come back - it would be seen only the first time in that browser session that the page was visited.
-- Also, I'd like something that is compatible with all current browsers.

Many thanks for anyone who can help!!

Did this expert mention that image tags, title tag, and other tags can be used for the content to get the page indexed?

I just want you to be aware that you may not have gotten the full info from this expert.

Our conversation was short, and this was one of the tips he gave me. I'm sure if we contracted with him for services that he would go into more detail. At this point, I'm trying to see if I can make a quick change (put the entry page into a floating graphic) so that I don't have to do a lot of manual SEO manipulation.

The site itself has decent content, and I would like the home page to be indexed based on the contents that a visitor sees after clicking the entry page, rather than trying to mess around with the current graphic page to make it look like it has the same content.

I do appreciate your response, however. I'm learning all the time from everyone's useful tips. Thanks!
