I was willing to create a game on facebook. You know a game like mafia wars... But now big company are in the place so there is not anymore place for non professionnal game. What's more I have the impression that people are oerwelmed by games notifications on facebook. What do you think of it ?
I agree with this statement. Farmville this, mafia wars that. Constant posting of that on my feed, very annoying IMO!
actually it is all up to the builder, and owner. I have a client that took our army app for facebook, made a prison game out of it and is consistent with pulling in 2000.00+ a month in revenue for the past 2 months after being live for only 4 months. also no advertising just work of mouth and invites. Just asked questions which I helped them with and pointed them in the right direction.. TJ
I think facebook are making it harder for developers to promote their games on facebook now, but the growth of these is games and the revenue they bring in is huge. Not sure how sustainable they are though.
actually i hate to burst another bubble. they are in fact making it easier to promote to users. They have the same anti spam policy's as they had a while ago. With adding option to email users, wall posts, status updates, inviting friends, groups, business pages / profiles, very targeted advertisement's , and new profile pages built with iframe and fbml
thats the thing. Dont compete with zynga. your facing a multi million dollar company with many sponsors and advertising money. You wouldn't compete with microsoft would you? You have a marketing blog in your signature. There are many marketers in the world. What makes yoru site unique? you put your own spin on it and it will gain interest and return visitors. Same goes for a game in facebook, or a standalone site. It goes hand and hand that you make it unique or at least put your own personalized spin on something and it interests someone or groups of people than it will catch and become successful. TJ
Creating a game on facebook is not a good idea anymore idea there is always a friend, the game can always be used as long as we compete with a healthy
It's very hard to create a successful game on facebook, for example i don't think that anyone of us, unless a company, can create a competitive game for Mafia Wars for example. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Top-Mafia-Secrets.com
Yeah, just too many people jumped on the bandwagon and it's getting a crowded space now with lots of games competing with each other. And I even started blocking users on Facebook that send me a new Mafia Wars/Farmville request every day (sometimes even several times a day...guys, don't you realize I'm not interested in wasting my time? Duh...)
I have a big list of games in my facebook account any one want to them cam search me at facebook by kabir sharma and send a request to take them. I will provide those games to you.
Honestly like any market take the following. Think first what do you make money with online? selling scripts? hosting? b2b? ppc, ppa, ppm? and anything else under the sun. How do you get noticed and make a buck? answer: market, advertise, back links and anything you can think of to bring traffic, and potential customers. Facebook is no different nor is twitter nor is any other social community or area you are trying to make money from and grow that site, app, script, business. We say Zyanga has the market on it. answer: NO, you just have to be creative in marketing it and building it like you have the other things you provide online as a service or product. TechCrunch reported in September over 200 million people playing games in facebook. http://techcrunch.com/2010/09/21/200-million-people-are-playing-facebook-games/ High hacking rate? More like people not paying attention and trying to log into a phishing site. RULE # 1 : Never I repeat NEVER give your account details in a message no site , facebook included will ever ask you to do that ! RULE # 2 : If it looks like spam , don't even open it .....even if your best friend sent it.....Im sure you will see him or her and they can show you in person ? or pick up a phone and call them..... RULE # 3 : Dont keep the same password for more than 10 years people ?! ohhhh and then using it for all the same accounts you have all over the net ! RULES # 4: Those link posts your friends are posting on your wall are transferred to you when you click on them , so you can bet if you have done that then your facebook is posting on other people. SO DONT CLICK ON THEM .You and your friends either have malicious software now on your computer or somebody has simply hacked your account and the quick fix would be to change your password. (http://www.facebook.com/help/?page=420) Its not anything new and people should be aware of this by now you would think.
Well for me it depends on the game that you create and post in Facebook if it will have more users or not. If you knew that the game you have develop will attract more and more users, why stop creating a game. I think it's it the developer strategy and gimmick to keep their games played by all Facebook users.
