    Hello,

I am trying to figure out how to go about creating a sub-domain with the "blog." prefix.

    For example:

blog.mysite.com (where "mysite" is the url of my domain)

For the life of me I cannot figure out how to do this, can anyone help me out?

If your you have hosted your domain, you can do that from your hosting panel (make sure your host allow you to create sub domains)
You can create sub domains at your domain registrar too.
    Thank you

Can I do it from the FTP directory of my site? Does it have to be done at the registar or at the hosting service?

No it can't be done via FTP. What you ultimately need to do is create a DNS A or CNAME record. You either have to get your hosting provider to do this for you, or you may also be able to do it through your control panel.

If you do it from your FTP directory it will be like this. mysite.com/blog/

But go to your Domain Control Panel not host. And in there you can look for a Sub-Domain option...

If you have already mysite.com then you can add anysubdomain to it. Go to your web hosting control penal and you will be able to do that. BTW, which hosting service you are having, I can tell you in detail.
