Creating a directory to assist with web design

    Hi

To assist with marketing my website I was looking to setup a directory. I have database tables with towns, counties and regions (UK here) and can easily acquire a source of companies for the whole of the UK related to my industry/keyword. So the idea being that I can dynamically create pages with town+keyphrase or county+keyphrase etc. I will be listing 2/3 companies per page and then either putting my site as a featured listing or including my site as adverts etc.

I understand that this type of content generation to assist site size and mop up geographical + keyphrase combinations is nothing new - so has anyone done this here and do you have any advice on how to construct this.

Questions that I am currently pondering are:

    1. Location i.e. a) www.mydomain.co.uk/directory b) directory.mydomain.co.uk c) www.newdomain.co.uk

    2. Do I provide a link to other sites in this directory (after all they are competitors!)

    3. Should there be a special linking structure (at present I was looking at a simple drill down)

    Thanks in advance
