Creating a Database... Cost?

Can someone tell me how much it would cost to (I believe I am saying all this info correctly!) have a database created for me? What I need is VERY simple. I need 4 columns and it has to be searchable and if possible I would like users to be able to add content. I have one in mind that the "type" would work but it is being used on a vbulletin site. I HATE to link to them and give them more traffic because I hate them to be honest. Is there anyway I can get across what they are using without linking to them? Copy source or something?

    Thanks!

So it's not a database you're looking for, but an interface to work with a database to work with the content. TO create a database is free...

you mean, you don't want to pay even a penny to start such kind business from where you'll earn a lot of $s. Be honest and start earning..

I don't have it to put out right now. I just bought a new house. I am just trying to get the site started and get some darn content on it.

The database (excluding the likes of Access which is the exception rather than the rule) is only a series of interlinked tables and if done correctly, queries that can be run against it as stored procedures. In itself it is highly unusable as you need secondary software to actually view either it, its outputs or to trigger the stored procedures.

What you are wanting is a database and an application (i assume a web one) - whilst these can be developed independently and would be for a major enterprise sized application for your normal website you would have a single person/ company create both to avoid the hand over time from DBA to Developer
