Don't take any notice of this thread! This will not create a blog site map. This is the RSS feed for the site!

Well, if I open my blog and type "rss.xml" after the blogspot home address, it actually changes to my feedburner RSS feed:-

    http://feeds.feedburner.com/AnEnglishIdiotAbroad

WHICH IS THE RSS FEED FOR MY ENTIRE SITE(not formatted very well either as I have a lot of pictures with the text).

How is this a sitemap, it's just a feed, and no different(as far as a search engine would see it) from my blog itself?????

Perhaps someone has their terms mixed up. I am interested to know though, how you really create a sitemap for a Blogspot. *Googling*

Wow...it seems this information is true. I followed the steps here, and it worked.

I was being pedantic! The RSS feed, while not a sitemap in the strict sense, can be admitted to Google as a sitemap (I've just read in their help centre). I'm not sure what the point is, though, as Google crawls your whole site anyway, so the information in the sitemap, such as link url's, dates of posts, etc. etc. is all contained in the blog anyway. I haven't submitted a sitemap, but get good results in Google searches and now have my first pagerank(1 out of 10 may not sound much but "from little acorns mighty oak trees grow").

So apologies to abdobasha2004! I might add my RSS link as a sitemap just to see if it makes any difference :)

True. I've read around and there seems to be significant emphasis on sitemaps with Google for some reason. It doesn't really matter to me though as I am concentrating on other aspects at the moment, but when I come across something easy that I can do in a few minutes, then I want to check it out, you know?

Plz be sure of what you say

RSS feed IS an alternative for sitemaps and is considered a sitemap for a blog
You can submit it like that to google site maps

    appology required :S
