I want to make a 3D model of my house, with a live walkthrough. NOT a pre rendered video walkthrough. I did this many years ago by creating a custom map for Quake - but walking around my virtual home carrying a bloody axe isn't exactly my thing anymore I've looked at a few commercial 'virtual home' applications, and they're all terrible. The walkthroughs are slow, and the controls are pathetic. Is there a nice way I can do this without using a FPS engine? Or is the only way to get that FPS feel (minus the guns) to make a custom map for Quake III/Counter-Strike/whatever... This is an example of what I want to create. Minus the gun, and obviously using my own house, not The Simpsons house Any ideas?
There is software that is capable of doing this if you know how to use programs such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks that are Drafting programs.
