Creating 2 different catagories in WP

    Hi,

I am trying to make 2 different lists of catogeries. I've made 1 category called job list with a list of jobs and now I want to make a category for articles. The problem is when I made the new category called articles, all the entries from the job list are in there and whenever I try to add an article in the articles category it also appears under job list.

Can someone please help me resolve this...

(Basically I want it to appear like "hosting resources" and "wordpress resources", here: http://www.wpdesigner.com/ with no overlapping entries.)

Check and see which category boxes are checked. Sometimes I notice that when editing a post, some boxes end up checked that I didn't intend.

Also make sure that you have them set up as subcategories:

For instance "Articles"-> and then the subcategories of articles.

There is a drop down menu when creating categories that give you the option of making the main categories, or subcategories of an existing category.

Hey, thanks for the reply. The settings are as you mentioned but both categories "articles" and "job list" have the same sub-categories. I don't understand why I'm having this problem  Anyway, rep for your efforts :)

Did you change the name of your original "uncategorized" category ? If so, change it back to uncategorized, and create a new category for what ever you named it.
Also check your default post category in your Writings Settings Dashboard ->Settings->Writing.

I changed its name to "other" but the problems started before that. Anyway I've changed it back and its the default post category (which never changed).

Jut sent you a possible fix. If it works, share it with others here who may be looking for the same solution.
