Hi I created a sitemap in xml format, and i believe i followed all the guidelines i could find. Still google does not accept it. If anyone could come up with a good idea I would be gratefull! Link to sitemap: http://www.mirus-aps.dk/sitemap.xml Kind regards Gitte www.mirus-aps.dk
Doesn't seem to be anything wrong. Maybe the URLs you use in the sitemap (containing www) are not the same as the website you added to your Google webmaster account (non-www). That's all I can think of.
Hi Daniel Thanks for the quick reply. Good to hear that the code seems ok. When I look at the google dashboard I see "www" in front of the sitename. I guess thats what you ment? I tried removing the www's from the sitemap, but no change. The error message translated from danish(!) is something like: Line 2: Incorrect namespace Code: urlset Your sitemap or your sitemap index does not state the namespace correctly Does that help? Regards Gitte www.mirus-aps.dk
That is a good point about the www urls. How long has site been submitted. Do you have any links to site that get spidered.
The site was published around november. Still not indexed by google, and that is why im working on it now. I read that sitemap would make it easier for googlebot til crawl. There are no links to my site, and no links to other websites from mine. I know its not good, and I will work on that. But it should not prevent the acceptance of the sitemap? Kind regards Gitte www.mirus-aps.dk
Inbound links are nothing to do with the sitemap... I have checked the validity of your sitemap... it is ok. So try to resubmit it. Also pls try to use sitemap version 0.9... small tag changes will be needed....
Thanks for the replies everyone. Lets just say that I learned something about schemas.... The problem was, that I referred to a schema on my site, but it was not there!! This was my first sitemap, so i copy/pasted and changed it, but..... Thanks again everyone. Gitte Experience is knowledge - the rest is just information (think it is an Einstein quote)
change first line to <urlset xmlns="http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9"> as ThomasSchulz said... your sitemap will accessible to yahoo and msn also..

Well, I've tried several sitemaps as well. I've created one myself, used different online sitemap creators and web site and google would not accept neigher one of them. I'm lost, do not know where is the problem
I'm glad you fixed the problem...so you should close the threat so no one else will respond to it, like i just did.
