Created my first Affiliate site (credit-land)

    Hi,

I created my first Affiliate site about a week ago now and I have a question. First my site is thebestfreecreditcards.com and my main affiliate is credit-land. The main way I have been trying to bring people to my site is to post replies to relevent questions in answer boards (such as yahoo answers). According to credit-land, my site has 555 impressions, 10 clicks and 0 sales. I am wondering what else I could do to increase this. Also is the sales instant? Or do I get a sale after a certain amount of time (ie the visitor gets approved a couple days later and then has to accept).

Thanks for any help you can give me!

The website looks great. You can start using PPC if you have money.Who designed your site?

It takes 4-6 weeks for the card companies to report back, then approvals will be posted to your account.

It takes some time to process payments, and traffic is slow at this time of the year.

I am in position to answer your questions since I am an Affiliate Manager for Credit-Land.com affiliate program.

First of all, you've made a good start by going after free traffic - posting on message boards, yahoo answers, etc. For a new affiliate, this is the best way to test the waters.

Credit card field can be very profitable as you're well aware. Free natural search traffic and links from free sources is the cheapest and best way to make money. It does take time and a lot of effort to get indexed and to build up a referral traffic.

PPC is another source of traffic. Many affiliates make a good amount of money from PPC. However credit cards is a very competitive field. Unless you understand the market extremely well and you have a very good understanding of PPC, affiliates new to affiliate marketing and PPC should stay away from PPC as you can lose money very quickly.

Your site has 555 impressions and 10 clicks. That means that only 10 people visited the merchant sites that can lead to a commission. The key measurement here is the number of clicks that your site generates to the bank sites that issue credit cards. The conversions from clicks to leads/sales vary widely depending on how good your traffic is, from 1/20 to 1/200+.

Credit-Land.com updates statistics on impressions and clicks on a daily basis. Lead/sales statistics take about 2 weeks to come on average to be reported back from the credit card companies. As someone pointed out correctly, final lead/sales statistics can take as long as 3-4 weeks to appear in your account since some accounts go into manual processing and take much longer to be reported.

At this point, with only 10 clicks to credit cards banks, you're looking at very low chance that you have made a sale - may be 1 at most. The key is to get more traffic to your site to increase your statistical chances of getting sales/leads.

I see that you have joined our free Cobranded partner program and created a nice site. You can also join our affiliate program and use a free datafeed as well as free banners/links to create more pages.

If you need assistance, we'd be happy to help.
