There is a sections in my site where user registers and after registration i want the my users can access the site through there usernames.
for example user "temp" registers on my site "www.xyz.com" and after registration they could be able to access their area like "www.xyz.com/temp"

I know it can be done by htaccess so please could anyone help me.

You need to create .htaccess in each directory.
Contents of each .htaccess - look here for the variant you like.

Well you'll use htaccess - do you have a page for each user? If so what's the link to that page - then you can rewrite the first to the latter! :)
