Since Wikipedia is a public editorial purpose. It would be hard to get your company page being published there. Is your company big and famous like Microsoft or CNN? If not, a little chance to being there. I have seen many companies trying to get their own page in Wikipedia and most of them ended with "Page Removal" or "All links stripped off". Even if you can have your page there, you cannot have your own preferred text link. Wikipedia has being spammed for several times before and they do hate to be any of SEO purpose by webmasters.

Your business can have a page if you are a big company and its in the public interest for the page to be kept on so if you discover something unique or start a new trend that would help otherwise you have no chance of having a page on wikipedia.

Look at it from wikipedia`s point of view if they let all the small companies have pages the encyclopedia would be full of spam.

Sometimes, with a little luck you can have a link on Wiki - the ones near the bottom external references - if your site has some relevance. Oddly I've seen these appear in backlinks on one or two of my sites though I thought they were nofollow, but pages for your web site seem a non starter.

Well no-follow does not actually mean that they are always no-followed....plenty of debate over that.

In fact, I'd guess a Wikipedia link is one of the most important that you can have anywhere based on the authority given to the site.

This is incredibly difficult, you will find you spend effort but that in the end the page just ends up deleted. Try MyWikiBiz and Aboutus instead

wikipedia is not your own little personal advertising tool. So chances are your new page will get deleted within just a few minutes.

To get listed with wikipedia, you have to be some kind of authority on a topic, such as a university or college, or a website that is recognized as an authority in its field,,,, something like that. If you have a store, or a new site, do not expect to get your own page on wikipedia.

Yeah - definitely go for another avenue. Wikipedia is a no-go (and, frankly, it should be - it's an online encyclopedia, after all). Build yourself pages on websites that are meant to be built upon in that way (wordpress, blogspot, etc.) and build up a good number of high-authority backlinks.

Wikihow can be useful as long as your article offers genuine advice and does not come across in a spammy way.

You can try, but somebody is going to find a violation and delete your page.
