Am I right in thinking that I can design my website in photoshop, cho it up then use it in dreamweaver? How would I go about setting it up in dreamweaver? (any help on what to google or links etc). Also what size should I do my size? cheers

You can do that, as a matter of fact I think most sites created now a days are made in photoshop first. There are plenty of resources to help you with this. You can hit up my favorites: hv-designs or six revisions. I also heard about a site PSDtoCss? All the sites mentioned above have AWESOME content related to what you're looking for. Good Luck!
yes this is how web design is done. Come up with a mock up in photoshop, use the slice tool to cut it up. Then save out all of your images. Then go into dreamweaver and write the html and css to align it all together.
