Hello Everyone, I am just getting into Affilaite Marketting and everyone is talking about CJ. I have looked at them a little bit and see alot of major companies use them for affiliates. I started to do an affiliate program through CJ for a consumer electronic store, and my goal was to build up an affiliate store so people could buy their products from my store, and my store was to look like a nice store and what not. The question I have for everyone today is this.....What is the best type of platform/software/script to use to accomplish this. See I used E-Commerce plugin for Wordpress, so it would allow you to put them in categories and sort by price and this and that. But it would also put BUY IT NOW buttons out when you can't have your own "BUY IT NOW" button because you have to use their buy it now button to take you to their site. So what I am looking for is people to tell me the best platforms or scripts they have encounter that make setting up a Commission Junction affilaite store easy and nice looking, so that it looks professional and easy to navigate with prices, categories and everything else. I have heard people saying things like OS-Commerce and ZenCart can be used as well as wordpress lke I did, or even standard XHTML/CSS but not sure how that would work without some scripts. But anyway please let me know what everyone has done to make some affiliate stores look and fuction nice. Thanks in advance for any feedback.
I haven't personally done a cj store, but there was a recent thread on this here at DP that may give you some insight. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1023406 Since you stated you like wordpress, here is a cj wordpress plugin you may like: http://www.cjfriend.com/cj-friend-script/
Thank you for those post, I will def. be looking into that wordpress plugin more and more. Also, if anyone else has any other ideas and thoughts I would love to hear them, the more ideas I have the better. Thanks again.
hi shawn: later you will see that everyone has different opinions on the best platform to use. whatever you use, remember to add in more unique contents to your store, as that's how u'd attract search engine traffic.
if your hosting has cpanel with fantastico you should definitely checkout Joomla, you can create a very professional looking web site quite easily, all for free, just a little work to setup.
