Create a wordpress theme

    i just wanna know what are the mandatory files to be created and put into theme folder in order to create a simple wordpress theme

    I thinkk its header.php index.php footer.php check the documentation for all the files

    I'm really in need of a tutorial to create a wordpress theme.. Can anyone guide me..!??
    i was unable to find a proper tutorial regarding that topic..
