    Hello Guys,
I am about to buy a website from someone on the net and she gave me full access to the Google analytics login for the site she is selling to me.

The traffic of the site is mind boggling. Most of her site traffic comes from China with very low bounce rates.
I was wondering, is it possible to know if this traffic is paid or normal search engine refferals?

NOTE: THIS IS 8 DAYS TRAFFIC

Whats your take concerning China traffic? It doesnt look manipulated to me. The screenshots were made by me after logging in

I also wonder which niche of your site. that must be the interest from China if your traffic is real human.

    Hey 3mice,

The standard reports in Google Analytics will not provide the level of insight you seek - i.e.
"Are visitors from China (and other Countries) arriving from paid or organic search?"

To find this answer I would strongly recommend using a custom report to drilldown into the data.
I've prepared a custom report for you
    >> https://www.google.com/analytics/web/template?uid=8EbspECbSIS0X_EzTPA7GQ (simply click the link, sign in to Google Analytics if you aren't already logged in, select a profile/account, boom - view the data!)

This custom report is fairly basic but it will show you visits by:

    a) Country / Territory - A list like yours, showing visits by Country / Territory. Click the Country you want to analyze.
    b) Medium - Split between 'cpc' (paid search) and 'organic' (natural search) visits. Click to view keywords by medium.
    c) Keyword - A list of the top 'cpc' and 'organic' keywords driving traffic to the website.

The keyword report will highlight exactly what terms visitors from China are searching for when entering the site.

I hope this information is of use to you and good luck! If you need any additional insight, just drop me a line.
(if you are satisfied with the custom report or advice, please like my input - I'm a newbie!)

    Many thanks,
    Nathan

As per stats showing its look real. You can also go for more details by checking content section in google analytic.

The one thing I noticed about that report was the unusually high number of IE users. Considering Globally, Chrome was of last year the most popular browser (not by a huge amount) with IE close second. Source: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technolo...o-become-worlds-most-popular-web-browser.html

I initially thought "Well surely, there shouldn't be such a huge gap between IE & Chrome" But upon further inspection, in China, IE is the most popular by a country mile with 53.01% and 360 Safe Browser (never heard of it) the closest to it with 26.94% and Chrome all the way down to 6th with just 2.41% (as of last year). Source: http://www.techinasia.com/china-safari-browser-market-share-2012/

Just goes to show that a little bit of research can prove you totally wrong.

As per the traffic, without a more detailed look, it will be hard for us to know. If you could post back with say, last 3 months traffic details we'd be able to see how its accumulated. Also, site URL would be good.

There are couple more thing that bother me:

    1. All the countries have 2.6 pages (which is weird)
    2. Very similar visit duration time
    3. 99+% of new visits.
    4. Even within Chinese cities, the numbers don't differ much.

I've never had numbers that close even between cities (not talking about regions)
