Gee, that's mature... If Shawn was obligated to explain why something wouldn't work to every person that made a suggestion, he would be wasting even more of his time. I would say that 98% of all suggestions made have already been discussed and/or Shawn has already considered. Aside from the explanations already given as to why DP won't be hosting blogs, this is a webmaster forum and most webmasters know that it's better to host their blogs on their own domain. I wouldn't host my blog on DP (or anyone elses website). Also, it's not like setting up some sort of blog interface would be easy. Who is going to spend the hours coding and testing it? How would we police spammers? etc. etc. etc. (These are actually just rhetorical questions, because as it's been suggested before, it ain't gonna happen...)

I got that already... But he seemed interested (kiiinda) in my last idea so i had the boost to work up something else... if no thats fine, consider this my last suggestion eh im tired anyways All i need is a valid reason not to do something, too much to ask?
I had 5 reps and 2 ims over msn telling me to keep the ideas coming...guess i got carried away =/ I guess i worked way too hard to figure something out...went through almost 20 ideas to get to this one... i give up though, shawn doesnt want change at all
I repped ya. It's just shawn's style... not going with these brilliant ideas. , The problem with this idea is that there is a bunch of greedy DP'ers that would spam it up.
At least people know i worked hard on it =/ Too bad mods dont think so..guess ill stop with em now way too much stressed btw i was wrong about that mod comment, i misunderstood one comment from a member, it was structured as if its from a mod, he had rep+comment sturcture, guess i shouldve checked showgroups if i dont have a mod backing up that they can take mroe work, this idea is worth squat guys.
Well if the staff can handle the extra work, it would be a good idea, however I have no idea of their workload, so it might not be possible. offtopic: any particular reason integrity got banned? seemed like a nice fellow.
You know, one day the admin and mods (just 3) will kill the spirit of good members with good suggestions. I know ive lost it after this thread
Gnet, I agree that you have some pretty good suggestions there but, I think you should also try to look at things from Shawn's perspective. The forum works perfectly, people are able to buy/sell/offer their services with the current set up and do all other stuff just fine. Now, you are asking him to add some new stuff onto this which means extra coding, extra hassle. What if he's too busy? I mean do we really want to see some more of those database errors? I don't think anybody here has a right to demand anything from him. Hell, I think he's too kind to even read every thread in this section and answer questions. I'm sorry if I sound too mean. I like you Gnet but, I don't think it's wise to keep demanding things from this guy even if you believe that you have a brilliant idea.
