    I would put the original MySpace in the same class as a copycat recycled Friendster.

    A site is a lot different to a marketing ploy, especially one that relies on it's originality to gain free press. You can't compare two different things.

    That's fine, but it's not comparable to what we're talking about which is marketing strategy. If MySpace tried to market themselves using a million $ pixel page or we'll make a million $ in 6 months blog, they wouldn't get much free press based on the originality of their idea.
