Crazy AdSense Ads and Results

Anyone seen anything like this before. (see attachements--unfortunately I had to reduce them pretty small to make them conform to the forum limits) Have I been hijacked or something?

One of the pictures shows a 120x600 AsSense ad from the home page of my site; in place of the ads is a strange word or phrase (different each time, sometimes with no words) and a bunch of large bold question marks; at the bottom of the ad it says "Google ?????" and it's not a link per usual.

The other picture shows a very strange set of Google SERPs that come up if you click on the screwy ad.

The other Google blocks on this page are showing up totally blank. I've been using AdSense on this page for a long time with no problem. This started very recently--today as far as I can tell.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks,
    Clubber Lang

I had to resize the attachements so that the forum would accept them. They are there now. Thanks.

Looks like geotargeting gone sideways... I can't see what the search results are because the screenshot is too small, but the AdSense ad unit is in a different language that you do not have the language/character pack installed for on your computer. Since it is unable to show those characters (ie. Japanese characters) it shows question marks instead. That specifically looks like a PSA.

Added: it also might not be geotargeting gone sideways but an ad campaign targeted worldwide that includes non-English characters.

why not u just provide us the URL of you site
neway those ???????? signs mean the ad is using non-english unicode chars. (as jenstar said e.g-japanese chinese etc etc), it cud be geotargeting fault also. had your site got indexed in google? how many days ago u have got Adsense account? it normaly takes few day to get real ads appear on your site. if it is the case you can replace PSAs with alternative ads.
please provide us lil more details so that we can provide you lil more help

Thanks for the comments, and for the link to the previous thread. I figured there was a language character set mismatch going on with the question marks, but two things are especially weird: one, the ad contains a series of different, fairly odd english words in the center of the ad--things like "clementine" and "opisthobranch molluscs"; and two, when you click on the ad it goes to a page of Google search results--not a landing page of an advertiser's web site.

I'm going to assume at this point that the AsSense indexer will catch up with itself and start showing good ads again soon. It occurs to me, and should have before, that my recent implementation of the google_adsense_start blocks on my page must have reset the indexer. I also added some new urls to my competitive filter (to get thos essays-for-sale ads off my site). The screwy ads must be a bug in the PSA system.

    Thanks,
    Clubber
