I remember that I once read an article that said it is better to use text links for many reasons including:
Anchor texts can give you more keyword weight.
    Text links load faster :D.
    etc...
Anyways, I believe it is easier to crawl text links other than picture links especially if you're using image maps, then you're toasted :D.

The definately crawl them fine, but they aren't nearly as effective for helping your rankings. The se's love anchor text so I'd advise using text links and you can decorate them up to make them look and function like graphics using CSS.

text links definately works better then images. Still if you want to use them then make use of 'alt' to your benefit ;)

I say use both! The addition of a hyperlinked graphic bullet with good TITLE and ALT tags will add to the SEO value of a text link.

I guess so too, although if you have one and it's workin fine, it's not worth the risk :D.

As long as you place your keywords in the alt image then it really does not matter. Example: if you place this in your image "SEO Services" as the alt tag and link that to wherever it holds just as much weight as a normal text link.

Why? Because when google caches a website it does it in two ways (1)full cached page with images included. (2)for the cached text only.

However Yahoo and MSN do not use both so for them text links are better.
