crawl errors from google webmaster tool is it important?i have 404 errors is this significant for my site?should i fix it?
Well, that means that google can't find that page to index it. If you start having too many of those, especially if the originating links comes from your own site, this could signify a low quality site. If someone does a bad link to my site and it produces a 404, I usually do a 301 redirect to point it to a good page, might as well make use of the link.
i have a little confusion here. u got 404 total number of errors or Error type(404) auh? if u really got error type. nothing to worry, just redirect them. If it is total number 404 error, you need to fix it.
i got 61 errors saying page not found but when i lick the links its there and the pages that where deleted still crawled by the bot how can use 301 redirecT?
If those pages are not still available then consider these option 1-Publish a customer 404 error pages and redirect those 404 error pages to custom page.. This is important is those pages have good no of backlinks. . total links were shown in error report. 2-You you don't want those pages, then in same place , there is option for " Removal request", there you can specify a particular pages ( /cat/errorpage.html) or whole directory (/cat/ ). Hope it will help you.
you can block some directory or pages via robots.txt and then you can submit url removal request through google webmster tool.
You can check your broken link & fixed the issue. Update the xml sitemap & resubmit it in Google webmaster tool
Use htaccess to do a 301 redirect of each of the pages that does not exist and point them to a page that does. Why waste the link by doing a removal request.
Certainly you need to fix them and that too at the earliest. If google cant crawl your pages then it might probably consider your website as a low quality site.
Not Found (404) - 138 errors in total. Under the "linked from column", it says "unavailable" for most of the links, and the rest say "h**p://mydomain.net/sitemap.xml.gz". All the URL's were detected at a later date.
