i got these campaigns running for valentines day. ctrs on adgroups are nice, but after 500 bux and 1000 clicks, only 1 measly conversion. and the ironic thing is that conversion was from a campaign that was separated for content and very low budget. anyways, the product is a gift item and i targeted the adgroups to what i thought would be great roi words, but i guess not. anyone got any suggestions or ideas? btw the ecommerce store im doing this for does get a fair amount of orders a day, so it cant be the product not being able to sell, etc...
turn content network off (if you havn't already done so) target your keywords towards the end of the buyng cycle, for example: don't target a broad keyword like Widgets, instead target: blue waterproof widgets get blue waterproof widgets buy blue waterproof widgets purchase blue waterproof widgets discount blue waterproof widgets review blue waterproof widgets compare blue waterproof widgets get blue waterproof widgets blue waterproof widgets online blue waterproof widgets com blue waterproof widgets review blue waterproof widgets reviews blue waterproof widgets compare blue waterproof widgets comparisons blue waterproof widgets info blue waterproof widgets information blue waterproof widgets order
seoster Don't go for too long tail keywords, what vstar wants to say is that you shouldn't bid on broad keywords. If you got only 1 conversion out of 1000, that's definitely your keywords problem. Choose only most targeted ones.
vstar, i agree, i would rather have targeted clicks and content is off, it was on for a content campaign only, and that was the compaign that comverted, oddly enough. mcdee, i am measuring conversions with the thank you page, after an order has been completed. analytics shows conversions, and adwords showed one out of the near 1000 clicks. the industry is gifts and gift baskets.
wow 500 bucks to test a campaign...you must have some nice cheddar sittin around. im sure as valentines gets closer your roi will incread as well.
