craigslist?

I know that some recommend using craigslist to promote a site. I was wondering what category a pet forum would go into. I originally posted it in the pet section but it was flaged within 5mins. So I moved it to the general community. I'm not sure if its really getting any attention there and if there is a better place to put it? But atleast its still there after a few hours.

I found this to be a little confusing. So am I allowed to post a similar ad in another city?

Honestly craigslist seems like a bad place to promote a site to me. Plus the links expire.

As I understand their meaning, you can post in only one city, and you can post in that one city only about every 48 hours.

However, the other logical interpretation would be that you can post in a different city every 48 hours. I don't think that was their intent, but they could have been clearer.

Hec, my post was deleted very fast.
I had just posted in one category and in one city only.
    I still dont understand why?
When I asked in their help forum, they said it was not the moderators but the bots doing it.

I have some experience with craigslist, they are not allowed to post any links to different sites, specially if your site are not geo targeted, I used to do 100 posts a days and I would say 90% are deleted right away ( in a couple hours) , so its not worth to do that unless you have a special script that would save your time doing that. but I dont think that you can get one because they use that image verification.

Hmm, Maybe if someone comes up with such a tool that helps in submission to craigslist, it will be very helpful.

Come on guys, work on your content and accessibility. Free classified, Myspace and all that is just a waste of time. You can have hundreds of unique users from some of these popular web sites, but few of them will LINGER (the first time used in this sense)

I think that traffic from craigslist are more productive, because its a real people, and no one makes them to click.

I've have some experience with CL. For Pets, the only real
logical place would be the pets community. Once you put
a link, your ad will get flagged. The only section they allow
links I believe is the Small Biz Ads Services section.

I have an automated tool I use for posting. You could use that
with the understanding that your ads will be deleted pretty fast
but if you stay consistent you will get traffic.

I'm new around here so I cannot post link to the CL tool. I think
you can PM or something and I will forward you the info.

    Good luck.

Looks like there is a campaign elsewhere to spam Craigslist because people are posting on this topic more often now

They mean you can only post an ad in the city you are closest to every 48 hours in one category.
