Are many folks using Craigslist for links anymore?

nah its pointless the lifespan of posts is to short and they usually get deleted pretty quickly if you start dropping links in

But I heard from the others that it still works for them. I haven't actually gone into it yet, but I was going to. Are you guys saying that using Craigslist won't work in the long run for a site?

It can work to bring you traffic. But for SEs, the benefit is almost 0 as those links will not last long enough.

I’ve use craigslist for promotion but it doesn’t give any high quality traffic and my promotions get deleted so easily bcoz they think that I’m spamming, when it’s not…

Craigslist will help get spiders to your site, not much else.

I get a ton of traffic to my site from craigslist. I paysome .02 cents for each craigslist post and he does about 30 a day for me...Gets me a ton of solid traffic and leads

for traffic it is good but for long run from SE point view its not worth the effort we put in as the add expire in few weeks and its of no use

Who is "he"? Not sure I understand. Do you have someone who posts for you at craigslist as a promotion or has craigslist started charging?

I use CS for some stuff you have to be very subtle or you will get yoru post deleted - but if you are craft you can embed your links and get traffic... good for forums.

I did it a while back and did get some results, but it just seemed like too much work. I don't post there anymore.

I created a script that made my posts for me automatically, customized for each city. That helped my posts stay longer the original content. Other than that, I have not found a good tool to use for spamming craigslist.

So do you post the same text each time automatically?
Even "by hand", if the text appears to be too similar, it doesn't go through...
    Can you share your script?
