Hi Guys, I've just tried to setup a bookmark for a specific Craigslist results page. I'm using the method of inserting a "-" before a keyword to filter out that particular item - for example:- If I enter the following keywords in the search box on the page, preceded by a "-" it filters out everything I list:- -bag -tripod -film -"Dash Cam" -"gig bag" -nikon -Fuji Adding the above to the search box returns the following search:- https://losangeles.craigslist.org/search/ant/pha?query=-bag+-tripod+-film+-%22Dash+Cam%22+-%22gig+bag%22+-nikon+-Fuji So to my question: Is there a limit to the amount of keywords I can enter in the search box? Seems like I reached some kind of limit recently, but I can't find anything about this anywhere. Thanks for any help or words of wisdom.
Thanks for the reply, Here's the type of filtering I'm trying to add: -Dash -"dash cam" -tripod -bag -gigbag "gig+bag" -film -case -nikon -20mm -30mm -wide -"wide angle" Which results in the following: https://jacksonville.craigslist.org/search/pho?query=-Dash+-%22dash+cam%22+-tripod+-bag+-gigbag+-%22gig+bag%22+-film+-case+-nikon+-20mm+-30mm+-wide+-%22wide+angle%22 But it seems like I can only insert up to 20 of these and then I get an error returned page. Is there a 20 (or 30) filter work limit? Thanks
I ran two tests and it does look like it returns an error page after about 20 negative keywords. However, it would be more efficient if you used negative keywords in conjunction with other keywords / phrases (i.e. tripod bags -cases or nikon cameras -lenses that way it will look only for tripod bags, not cases or for nikon cameras not lenses). I am just guessing but I don't think their search is designed around filtering negative keywords all by themselves. It has to have a search phrase first for negative keywords to work like they should.
