Can I buy, use or borrow an IP address from a major city? Do I need to? I am trying to promote a website on Craigslist in ten major cities. I am posting in the “For Sale†> “Business / Commercial†area, so I don’t need a Phone Verified Account (PVA). It appears that you only need a PVA if you are posting in the “Service Offered†area. I am using an AT&T DSL so I can easily change my IP address by just re-booting it, but the problem is that although I can get all the different IP addresses I want, they are still local to my city (Dallas). So if I re-boot my DSL and get a new IP and try to post on Craigslist in say Miami, it gets “ghosted†within a few minutes – because it knows I’m actually physically in Dallas. Now just for clarification I am using a re-worded title and advertisement text for each city. I have ten different email addresses with different domain names and I have forty different pictures so each of the ten posts will have it’s own email, unique title, unique ad text and pictures (four per post). I am not setting up an account for each email – just going to the “post to classifieds†button on the front page – after I post the ad, a confirmation email is sent which I must reply back to and press the “publish†button on the post before it goes live. So how do I post in Miami or any other major city on Craigslist if my IP is in Dallas? My first assumption is that if I want to post in Miami (for example), I should somehow use an IP address from a server in Miami…..
if you want to change your ip, you should look at getting a verzion wireless card. They work very well.
