I was just curious checking craigslist keyword rankings for some major keywords like "classifieds","local classified ads","classified Ads"... They are not on top 5 pages. I was using seochat.com. We all know how popular the site is. Guess you guys can explain better.
Google is trying to buy them for a long time. And they were asking them to use AdSense. CraigsList guy Mr Graig is not interested.. Google may have got mad at them.
google is trying all the web sites or they are forcing people to use adsense. i'm not suprised when i read this
Craigslist earns enough money from ads I guess. They wont bother getting 10 cents per click. No ad is one thing, in their opinion, keep them separate from other classifieds.
Craigslist is most popular classified sites, that actually don't bother them if they are on first page or last page.
what's even more contradicting is that having adsense on your site doesn't help you rank naturally in G either.
I agree craiglist is the most popular classified ads that' why they monitor their classified postings every now and then to prevent from spammers...
Yep, most people just type in craigslist.com they don't have to search for classifieds. Its like Ebay, people just go to ebay.com to find stuff and make auctions... I doubt much of their traffic comes from people searching for "Online Auctions", same with myspace and other large sites they have branded them selves so well that most people just type in the URL.
May be they are using robot.txt. Its just surprising, a website with more then 10 million visitors a month not number one on these major classified keywords. But Yahoo Classifieds is there for many keywords.
It really does not matter craigs list rules in that erea we all know this! and who cares what google has in their serps in that erea classifieds are just substidary to the main issue web pages and bloggs work better for me" classifieds are not sticky and its only tempo so better write your own classfied add web page or build a site that relates to CL" i NEVER USE THEM BY THE WAY"
