Craigslist Marketing. Multiple Ads. Multiple emails. Proxy Servers.

This post is in regards to posting ads on Craigslist to drive website traffic.

I know posting multiple ads on Craigslist in a littel sketchy, but if it not too sketchy, bear with me.

I am trying to post multiple ads to multiple cities and am running into a few problems.

Basically Craigslist doesn´t want you to post ads about the same thing everywhere. So, if they see you are posting lots of ads to the same website or with similar content, they will start "ghosting" your ads. This means that no-one can see them.

So, the main solution to this problem is to make it look like all your ads are posted by different people and not you.

I have tried to do this a number of ways, but have not found a way that works very well yet.

My main problem I think is with finding enough unique IPs to use. Craigslist looks at each IP and monitors how many ads are posted from that IP.

And you also need to confirm the ad from the same IP.

So, does anyone know a way of getting multiple IPs from an internet cafe that are not over-used?
I know of a few services that I haven´t tried, but I assume other people are using those IPs for the same thing, but maybe not.

If you have an ISP that assigns a dynamic IP every time you log in, you could just disconnect and reconnect the modem. Also, you can sign up for a dial up service if you have a phone line, and just use it to post ads. It will be slow, but its good enough to post ads, you just disconnect and reconnect the connection to change IP

Craiglist advertising gets too much credit. I personally don't think it helps at all. You have TONS of competition for the same topic (most likely) so unless you are selling real estate or cars or offering people in person jobs it wont give you much success. If you are trying to advertise for making money online than don't waste your time. Too much competition.

I agree that CL gets too much credit fm. many. (mostly those that want to sell you something to use to post) I used to have a hundred ads at a time and posted to 10 different cities on a single account. 10 accts x10. Usually take at least a couple of hours a day without software. My results were not worth the time I spent disguising my ads using html and all the other tricks i copied from multi posters. Since the phone verification i have abandoned CL. About the your IP, i used Hide-my-IP and it worked well, many others available, just Google hide IP

CL has clamped down on things again recently. I'd try posting an ad in the same city as your IP and just make it something plain and not spammy to see if it goes live.

You can go online and look for craigslist proxy list that is updated daily. Or, you could invest in a craigslist poster, the best one so far is the, "Ecraigslist assistant" or its called something like that. It has a built in ip changer so that you can post multiple ads. I think this is your best bet.

In order to post in multiple cities you must have multiple IP's and also multiple PVA's (Phone Verified Accounts).

Do the Craigslist "barriers" (aforementioned above) apply to services or mostly to those "how to make money" scams?

Get some private proxies for the cities that you want to post in!
Get some phone verified accounts as those proxies are going to be soft blocked!
Conjure up some unique content expressing the same thing!
Follow the golden rule of 1 ad per 1 pva per 1 ip for that local area every 48 hours.

OR Get an auto posting software to help automate the process.
OR Hire a reputable posting service.

I post with Craigslist - I actually have 4 different accounts with them ( had ofcourse 4 different phone numbers.)
But I have not had to change my IP at all.

You want to change the Headline and some of the content - Because you will get hit with the duplicate post.

Craigslist is an incredible resource for bringing in new leads and driving traffic to offers - if you can get past all the boundaries and barriers and hurdles that inhibit you, that is ;)

I am currently using a great team to post my Real Estate Company's ads and it's working great. We get around 300 visits per day to our website and that's just from Craigslist. Craigslist marketing definitely works! If you guys need help posting your ads then I am offering my teams services for $.30/ad. That includes PVA's and everything. If you need examples of our posts just let me know. Email me at

I am currently using a great hosting site that offers free templates and editing tools so when I make multiple post I just simple use a different template and change a word or two in the heading of my post. I can upload 100 pics per a templates too. Check it out @ use.com Hope this helps you a little.

You shouldn't post more than 5 ads per IP address. Rotating your IP is an absolute must. You also shouldn't be posting more then 1 ad every 24-48 hours per account. If you do you are just asking for your ads to get ghosted and eventually lead your account to being disabled.

One little trick to change your IP address is to unplug your modem and plug it back in. This doesn't always work with cable though. Another option is to get a wireless card from your cell phone company. You can disconnect and reconnect with a different IP address.

If you decide to invest in proxies make sure that you don't get IP addresses all in the same range. Chances are that you will eventually get soft blocked and that could lead to having all of your IP addresses in that range being blocked.

If you want to post similar image ads to multiple cities make sure that you upload multiple copies with different file names to a photo sharing site. You also should be adding some generic yellow text into your ad that is hard to see but it can help your ad look more unique. Look for regular posters that put up ads and take a look at their semi-hidden text.

And don't keep using the same URL as the link. Create some redirects with a few throw away domains. Most of the URL shorteners are getting blocked.
