I'm wondering the same thing, is Craigslist just a website link archive?

Craigslist is great if you have something to sell, and there is a category for it.

It does not work for just acquiring links or traffic to your site. I get about 500 - 1000 visits from craigslist every time I do a set of posts. But I have a product that works well with the site, not everything will work.

The main reason to post at Caigslist is to get an indexed backlink not necessarily to get traffic. Craigslist posts expire after 3 months - at least in the categories I post in - so you have to remember to repost. In some cases my Craigslist posts rank higher on my keywords than my own site and onto the first page of Google results. I advertise a service & post in the correct categories so I have never been banned or deleted. To post at Craigslist just go to the correct city & category where you want to post and click POST at the top of the page. Use HTML to bold/highlight keywords and make your title keyword rich.

For your site (http://soccerclips2u.blogspot.com) I would suggest writing a football 'news' post in your blog - then linking to it from the UK-Local News section on Craigslist.

ok, another question - is posting on craigslist considered spam and can get you banned in adsense?

    hope I didn't hijack the thread, I think it's a relavant question

Yes, if you spam onto craigslist you can get banned if you have adsense on the site you are linking to. Someone made a thread a couple of days ago and this had happened to them, I'm sure you'll find using search.

    edit - heres the link

I do not think craiglist could help as it can be against adsense TOS

Traffic is going to depend on what you post. Its not a good idea to spam that video blog onto it. You're either going to get low volume of traffic, or you're going to lose your adsense account. Nothing goods going to come of it.
