CPM Question

Right now I've got a blog that I think I can build up to get running on the bigger CPM sites. By that I mean I think I can get up to 3,000 page views per day without too much pain and I think that I am in a lucrative niche that will attract CPM networks.

But here's my concern: I've got a pretty bad bounce rate right now (~50%) and fairly low page views/visitor (~3.5). Are either of those going to be a problem for me down the road? Or do the larger CPM networks even care about those stats? (And, yes, I am taking steps to improve my bounce rate.)

Thx in advance for any advice...

CPM networks wont care about bounce rate or pv per visit. The only thing about them that matters is, low bounce rate = less advertising needed to get more people to compensenate for them only viewing the index. Also 3.5 is good, even so they still dont care, like i just said, it makes your job easier getting a person who views 3 pages than 3 people who only view one, you get paid the same either wya but itll cost oyu more to get 3 different people.

i recommend value click media, they require 3k pv a month, easy for you and there are some that may require 3k a day, but their support can be horrible and many have complain or confusing control panels. The next step would be tribal fusion which wants 60k uniques a month.

I didn't understand what you meant regarding low bounce rate. Are you saying that I will get paid the same regardless of whether my bounce rate is 25% or 50%? That part is confusing to me.

For trivia, it looks like Tribal Fusion only requires 5k uniques/month:

By the way, can anyone - and I realize this probably varies considerably - comment on standard CPM rates now? I have the impression from poking around that it tends to be in the $1.50-$2.00 range for a good site with one of the bigger networks that requires around 3k pageviews/month? Is that about right?

    Thx again...

cpm rate depends on ad size, ad network etc. pop unders can be like $5 but 728x90 can be up to around $2. Also different networks offer different percentages, value click is 50% to publishers. tribal fusion may be different.

Oh also TF requires different amounts depending on niche, i know arcades, what i run require a high traffic.

And isn't their fill rate - I think that's what you call it - usually around 50% as well. So tell me if I'm looking at this right. If you get a CPM of $2.00, you actually only get about 50 cents because only about 50% will get filled and then 50% of that will go to us publishers.

Am I looking at that the right way?

Normally CPM ads don't care about the bound rate.
What their primary concern is your traffic origin especially US and UK.

I get about 78% from the US, 5% from the UK and 4% from Canada. Will that be acceptable do you think?
