If you have a website that gets tons of visitors, you probably spend a good bit of time evaluating CPM networks. There are some very shady networks, and there are DP members who will push these companies for referral fees, making it very hard to know if their advice is genuine or not. If you only care about money, this is not a list for you. If you care about your visitors and want them to return to your site, AVOID these CPM networks. 1. CreditBurner - Iframe breaking/Page redirection without clicks. No way to exclude/filter ads. Don't want that audio banner? Tough... CreditBurner's iframe also refreshes several times, who knows what that is all about... but we can only assume that they are either stuffing cookies or loading several more ads per visitor than you are actually getting credit for. These refreshes will make your site very slow. If you care about your visitors and do not want to piss them off, stay away from credit burner. If all you care about is money, this may be a network for you. 2. Canep - Used to be a reputable network, they are now loaded with advertisers who will redirect visitors without clicks. Reporting these advertisers doesn't do any good, Canep does not seem to care anymore. Canep does allow you to hand pick your advertisers, so with allot of trial and error you can filter out these shady advertisers. The problem many publishers have with Canep is that they do not enforce the filter settings you set for your zones, so you basically have to approve every single advertiser manually. 3. Snoork Ads - Everything looks fine if you put their ad code on a blank html page, but put it on a page with actual content your visitors will start getting redirected without clicking on banners. They also may suspend your account if you use them as a "filler network" with other networks (suspended mine for using them as a filler network for ValueClick). 4. Uggitraffic - Popups and click jacking while using the banner code. This is a pretty new network, probably have more problems with quality control (giving advertisers too much freedom) than trying to screw publishers. (Sintaku, Wrzmaster, confirmed by me) 5. ADVPoints - Another network that redirects without clicking. Promotes adware/trojans according to other members of this forum. (Sintaku, confirmed by searching forums). Reply if you have come across any shady networks and I will add them to this list.
UggiTraffic is a complete scam and has redirects in their ads. First I earned around $15 and I got paid by them, then when I earned a greater amount they delete my account for no reason. I currently use Snoork Ads on my site and I did not notice any redirects so far, I run them with AdBrite ads. My site is http://filmious.com/
I refreshed my page just a few times after adding the Snoork ad code to my website and got redirected. I removed it quickly after that. They then claimed my valueclick banner contained a "hidden iframe" that was hiding their ads on a page that I personally use to test adcodes on. I took offense to the accusation, but it really didn't matter after I saw the redirection on my live site. Updated top post.
Yeh I have to drop Canep Media too because of those annoying iframe domain parking ads that always redirect your site to another site. It was a good network but too bad I have to drop it
I wish I could edit my top post to put Snoork Ads on the top of the list, especially after Wrzmaster got is thread deleted where he was exposed as having high interest in Snoork. Yeah... his website (filmious.com) is hosted on the same IP address as Snoork Ads. No wonder he pushes Snoork in just about every post he makes.
Clickjacking, also known as UI Redressing, is possible not because of a software bug, but because seemingly harmless features of web pages can perform unexpected actions. A clickjacked page tricks a user into performing undesired actions by clicking on a concealed link. On a clickjacked page, the attackers show a set of dummy buttons, then load another page over it in a transparent layer. The user thinks they are clicking the visible buttons, while they are actually performing actions on the hidden page. The hidden page may be an authentic page, and therefore the attackers can trick users into performing actions which the users never intended to do and there is no way of tracing such actions later, as the user was genuinely authenticated on the other page. it's good to get information like this out into the public, so that people will know which networks to stay away from.
Added a blogpost here as well as linking to this topic so my blog readers can find out more information here. Good topic.
and also i see www.advtmedia.com is too good for the publishers. Please advise if some one had issues with it ?
I've got 2 more to add to the list: Smowtion: Popups while using banner code. Forced redirection. Ignores filter settings. BannerConnect: Forced redirection. I had high hopes for Smowtion, but they are as bad as anybody else on the list.
I am trying Smowtion at the moment but have not come across that problem. Also a bad network is Claxon Media as they gave me $0.07 for about 7,000 impressions and they have pop ups on a banner CPM network.
There are lots of scams online. Check them out using Scam Search. I was a victim before so now I've learned my lesson.
