I have, to the tune of about 50% or more! It's quite saddening... I just hope it comes back at some point
Advertisers have pulled down their ad spending and stiff competition between adwords advertisers for keywords is vanishing resulting in lower payment to adsense publishers. Google may also be cutting cost and focusing on paying more to sites that produce better ROI for the advertisers.
I think Internet Marketing has slowly been affected by the phenomenal economic crisis. I'm not sure, but probably true based on my sites' statistics. I agree with Jarodboy, mine started also last December. My profit dropped up to 5-10%. January, 10-20%. This month, around 50%. Yes, it really dropped a lot. I am currently investing my savings and trying to build multiples of sites, but only be using 2 niches because those are the only one I know. I still prefer quality than quantity.
This morning I was asking myself this question. I only started getting traffic around December and I was wondering if the global recession would effect my success. My thoery is if I can get a decent ctr right now then in a few years it'll only get stronger. Anyways The point of this message was to see if someone could give me advice on ad placement for my site. Or even how I could redesign the site around the ads for a higher ctr. Here is my site, diyguitarmods.com (sorry it won't let me post links yet). Its pretty new and I only have around 20 visits a day with a ctr averaging .67%. Any Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ian

Why is it that you blame the advertiser's I had the same proble with adsense on my joke site I was using in december and january adsense the earnings droped for me over fifty percent. I started adding adbrite did a comparison of half the site then noticed the big and I would say huge difference between the two adbrite was killing adsense for the same amout of pages this month alone with adbrite it is now over 125 dollars and the site is not complete still half 79 pages to do. There advertiser are paying great at leastforme so I wolud not put the blame on advertiser's I blame google.
Yeah, there were a drop on adsense earnings, but that's not only because of the economical crisis, a few advertisers stopped advertising because of it, but other ones were google slapped because of the bunch of changes google makes on its policies, they are migrating to YPN, since the CPC is low and there aren't many competition as there are on adwords.
