Hey, Having problems with new hostgator account and my new network: I recently moved to university and in the halls we have free internet which is wired to all the rooms. Only problem is the port 2082 and 2083 are blocked on this network, therefore I cannot access my hostgator acp. I have tried to install cpanelproxy (http://sourceforge.net/projects/cpanelproxy) on my server and have followed the whole installation guide but I still cannot connect to the cpanel. Cpp changes the access port from 2082 to 80* All worked fine appart from the login. The program was not reading my login details, so i figured it wasnt connecting properly. Ive just tried again now to make sure this post is all but pointless and I have recieved an internal server error 500.. ffs. Any ideas what I can do? I have just paid $95 for a years service to find out I cant access it Andy
With the latest cpanel, there is a pre-configured proxy loaded. Try accessing the following subdomains without installing cpanelproxy: http://cpanel.yourdomain.com http://webmail.yourdomain.com It should work fine if it is an issue with your ISP port block.
Try to open a ticket on hostgator, they will certainly help you in resolving the issue. Most likely they are not using mod_proxy for cpanel access.
