cpanel license expired...need help

Discussion in 'Site & Server Administration' started by bizpro99, May 13, 2007.

    Hi,

My webhost seems to have their cpanel license expired and I cant login into my whm or cpanel into any sites on my dedicated server.

I want to transfer my sites to a new webhost. Can I still do it with out cpanel access?
If so how? and what are my options?

    Thanks.

If its a dedicated server and you have root access to the box, then you can simply transfer the files over.
I'm sure you can get cpanel off it (or get a new license of cpanel), though I'm not too sure.. I don't like cpanel much ;)

FTP would allow you to transfer the files out but it would not allow you to move the MySQL database.

Contact your web host, it may be a small technicality which your web host would fix if they are concerned about their business.

if you have shell access, i recommend you login and run:
    /usr/local/cpanel/cpkeyclt

(this updates your cpanel license file)

otherwise if youre on shared hosting, you should chase up your webhost to verify their license with cpanel

SSH to your server and run /usr/local/cpanel/cpkeyclt

This will only work if you have valid cPanel license i.e. License time isnt over.

im curious as to how can deleting a clientside stored cookie can get around an expired cpanel license which locks out access to cpanel (across all domains on the server) & whm server wide?

don't need to wirte anything :)

just do a little reseach and u'll find a lot of db backup scripts, which u can use w/o, even if u newbie

    e.g - > Sypex Dumper Lite 1.0.8 -> _sypex.net/files/SypexDumperLite_108.zip

it's in russian, as i remember, but the only think that u need to do is to upload this file, create /backup/ folder and put 777 permission.

then type in your browser url to this dumper.php and voilà [in french]!!!

Its http based authentication and not cookie based, normally(excep the admin has selected cookie based)
