cPanel Addon Domain Error

    Hi

    I purchased a reseller account yesterday and it has all been set-up now but when I try to add an addon domain in cPanel I get the following message:

    I am totally confused and don't know where to go from here. Can anyone direct me in the right direction?

    If you are adding a domain in a reseller account you generally do that in WHM not in cPanel. In order to addon a domain in cPanel you must have at least one domain hosted in your WHM control panel and addon domains must be enabled for that domain.

    There is a period in front of the fasterhosts above. Is that a typo?

    I have just managed to add a domain hosted at NameCheap, but I only seem to get the error when the domain is hosted with 1&1.

    Don't know if it is a typo, but the dot was in the error message.

    Assuming the . is suppose to be there (I cannot remember if they add that in) this error means that the server was unable to determine the IP of the domain so the provider has it set to not allow parked and addon domains to be added when this is the case.

    If you are trying to create a new account under your reseller account,you must use WHM and Create a New Account section to do this..

    If you really want to add a domain on an existing account and see this problem,the best way is contacting with your provider.

    It turned out to be a problem with my reseller host. Will be switching after christmas.
