I am sure most everyone who is big on affiliate marketing has heard of the new CPA company still in the beta phase, Perfect Tracking. For those who haven't, It is pretty much a clone of CPAlead with extra features and a bit of a different look. The main guy on DP for the company, PerfectTracking , insures us that they will beat any payout from their competition. He also claims their gateway converts better. Here is a quote from PerfectTracking, "Our gateway converts better, thanks to our unique Trend Prediction System, your users will be shown surveys dynamically, that's right, no more picking which offers to run or not to run, you get your offers sorted for you, based on how they perform FOR YOU instead of the average network results like our competitors do it." Does this mean no more crushed earnings for the day because I didn't deactivate some recently added surveys!? This is an interesting idea to say the least but I wonder how it actually works. Or if it does. PerfectTracking was developed and started by the co-creator of CPALead actually, which I found very interesting. It seems they split paths in January and he started developing his own project. I just started with PerfectTracking yesterday and installed the code on one of my sites at 3 am this morning. The earnings are far less then cpalead so far but I didn't start customizing the gateway until 8 a.m. so its understandable. You can view the PerfectTracking gateway I made here: http://www.simpsonsepisodes.com/viewer/watch.php?jump=2021 As you can see there are some major advantages over cpalead. Lets talk about the pros and cons- PerfectTracking Pros *Image Size. As you can see, my gateway is enormous. That is a plus to have as an option. *Number of Surveys. You can pick the number of surveys you want in your gateway. Great option. *They have this great little banner in your gateway (appears for many countries but not all), that allows users to instead pay 2.50 USD by phone to access the content, or pay 3 USD by sms. That is an alteranative of doing a survey for the user and I expect will make a good amount of extra money. *Layout customization. They have a strange way of letting you customize your gateway. It seems to work though. You can choose a background image and then there is a place for you to set padding to the image. However there are only options to set padding to left/right and up/down instead of left, right, up, down. This means that if you add a 300px value to 'left/right', it automatically adds 150px to the left and 150px to the right. *Support. So far the support has been good. 8/10. Much better then cpalead but I need to be with the company longer to say anything more. *Time to accept application. My application was accepted the same day submitted it. *Better publisher panel then cpalead, and they have a better one coming. *Great surveys, and a cool facebook one that only requires the user to install a facebook app. *Tons of international high converting surveys *Seems to offer a lot for the beginner but much more for the professional. Cons *From what I see, you can not manually deactivate a survey you do not like or does not convert well for you. The only options for sorting the surveys are by, estimated cost per click (EPC), conversion rate, or 'PerfScore, which is their "unique" sorting system. *I'm not liking that I cannot edit the text that is put there by default on every gateway. Here is a quote of the text that is put on every gateway, "Please complete one of the following surveys to unlock this webpage, please use accurate information and a working e-mail. Once your finished, please allow up to 1 minute for processing (usually 5 seconds). If the survey you have completed did not convert, please try another one. TIP: The higher a survey is on the list - the easier and faster it converts." It is too long and I do not like the way it is worded, but its not a big problem. *Its not a trusted company yet like cpalead. They do not have a big reputation built up yet which means in many ways you take the risk of not getting paid. *I think cpalead's statistic charts are much better *Their website at first hand is pretty bad. And on the about us page you still see lorem ipsum dolar all over. That was a big turn off for me. *It has that same title chooser that zango has. Where you can choose your header from a drop down menu with pre-written choices. However, you can request to have your own. *Doesn't let you set a certain time for the gateway to appear after page load. CPALead CPALead has been around for a while and has made a lot of people a lot of money (including me). They have a great reputation of paying on time and paying the right amount. They accept easy but have mediocre support and tech support. Most of us have learned to love cpalead and many probably will be very hesitant to switch over. Pros *Tons of great gateway templates to choose from. *Tons of surveys to choose from for a wide range of countries *High converting surveys *Great reputation of paying on time *Fast Acception *Makes me rich *Lets you set a certain amount of time before gateway appears Cons *Users always complain they have to do the survey over and over again even though its suppose to be set for lifetime access. *There is a very, very annoying character limit in the gateway that drives me crazy. *CPALead has been made well known on scam sites that gave it a bad rep.. Remember its not necessarily which is better, it is which is better for your website. Test them both out. See which one makes you the most, or see which one your users like better. Like usual, Anyone who signs up under my affiliate link will get tips, tricks, and advice from me for however long you are my referral. I will also be glad to talk to my affiliate manager to get you accpeted asap.
heh. It is more like perfect tracking's gateway looks horrible to people who are bad at design. It seems perfecttracking is more for the advanced webmaster, while cpalead is much better for the beginner.
Only thing i dont like about cpalead as it takes a while to complete to get your $$ as alot of user leave b4 finising
I'm working with both right now, Perfect Tracking really offers better gateway personalization, but that's one thing that is going to change soon since CPALead is already working on a new Gateway. Now about the conversion, haven't promoted my websites yet to know which one is more profitable or converts better, looks the same to me, the difference is that PT is still in beta so they will improve overtime, maybe the alerts when the person closes the gateway rises the conversion or ruin it, depends on the users, some may find it annoying some may understand what they have to do after the alert..
Well so far I only made 313 USD with perfecttacking which isn't so bad (with one site in 2 days). However, I know with some tweaking I can increase the earnings much much more. So far, less then cpalead, but I'm still testing!
Well this is very true, you WILL lose a whole lot of traffic. However, do you know any other option for a tv site that will make at least enough money to pay for the hosting? lol... I dont know about everyone else but I have tried tons of other things on these sites that just don't work. Such as graboid, complete bust, i made like 10 dollars a day. Amazon, another bust I have had it on the bottom of every episode page for a month and not one sale. I have also tried various other affiliates, mostly from cj but also from some other networks. I do have another way to make some revenue from the sites, and this will be my first time sharing it (Hope it works for you). It does work great in combination with cpalead but I doubt it would make much alone. Making a membership part of your tv site and requiring users to pay something like 5 dollars to join. Once joining you would give them access to a part of your website without the surveys and no ads. This is a great to make you money and keep your users happy. Making the membership part would be easy, just make a new folder and put every page of your website in it so it functions normally. Now you have to change allll internal links of your site so they don't take the user back to the non membership part. Then if you have a custom site (instead of a blog), open all your website pages within a file editing program which offers the 'find and replace in all open documents' option. My favorite is notepadd++ which is free and great. Once you have all the files open in the file editing program, press cntrl F, and then you should see somewhere (depending on which program you are using) the option of find and replace. Now replace part of your previous link with the path to the protected folder. EXAMPLE: For my site simpsonsepisodes.com , I have the main part of the site (root folder) with cpalead on it.. Then i have the members section, simpsonsepisodes.com/Members/ .. So all you have to do is add the members folder to the end of the original url , add a / after it, press replace in all open documents, and then save all open documents.. Now you have the members section set up and all you have to do is install some easy membership software.. I use sentrylogin.com . They are by far the cheapest and easiest option but not the best. It works fine for these type of sites however. Also don't forget to take the cpalead gateway off the membership section, you could do that with the find replace option as well, if you have it on many pages.
