Cpalead scam or how they stole my $12000

Discussion in 'Affiliate Programs' started by raisarus, Nov 16, 2010.

In early 2010 I opened a movie site and placed cpalead ads. Until they are not prohibited to put their ads on movie sites.
For several months I earned $12,000 but then the rules changed and i removed their ads. But payment i not require because I did not have a bank account.
In October, I opened my bank account and I successfully put it in cpalead control panel and start wait of payment. But on the day of payment 29 November 2010, my account was frozen for security reasons.
I start find out what happened... write letters, chat with John Bailey (their head of security). Our communication was very long and inconclusive.
None of my arguments were not heeded and as a result my account was permanently disabled and certainly payment was not made.

    What the charges against me:
    * Advertise on porno pages

The fact that my site was completely closed in September 2010 because traffic had fallen to 0. Accordingly, John had no evidence regarding my site, he could not able to visit the site and see the real content. He just showed me the referer pages and all, but that there was, he did not know, just guess. But the fact is that in August-September (when my site was still working) cpalead checked all the accounts to meet their terms, to me there were no claims, they appeared only when I asked for money. This means that cpalead earn money on publishers and do not pay, coming up with reasons not to pay.

On my site was search tags (tag clouds), I do not controlled them, but this pages display ads. So there probably was automatically added porn queries (but not adult videos).
If cpalead cared about their advertisers, they could filter the page and not show your default gateway on the pages that contain swear words (like google adsense). But no, cpalead do not need it because it's an excuse to ban you in the future.

    1. - I attach our correspondence with John Bailey. There you can see all. Also you'll see that i told him about fake site, but week ago he talk me, that hear about this site in first time. But the facts in the logs.
    http://cpaleadscam.do.am/chat-with-john.html

    2. - Also i attach list of cpalead sites that not yet banned. But why? Probably cpalead waiting for when you collect more money in the accounts to be banned.
    http://cpaleadscam.do.am/cpalead-sites.txt

I think when cpalead will decide to stole your money, they ban you. So work with cpalead or not, it's your own decision.

P.S. Troy and other cpalead staff, do not register again fake accounts here to post fake comments. "Be professional" - it's your favorite dictum.

P.P.S. Please post your replies here only after you read chat transcript.

    P.P.P.S. Sorry for my english.

I saw the files you were attaching, hmm... I really didn't like this part :(

cpaleadjohnb (1:24:53): Impatience will not prevail
cpaleadjohnb (1:25:08): I will now reschedule for pressing the issue and not waiting patiently.

Sounds like the army when you have to obey orders or something, I mean it's business, you NEED to be served in my opinion, and you did contact him after 3 hours just as he said.

Another thing I don't like is:

cpaleadjohnb (23:40:00): Your blasphemy will go un-noticed.

On the same time I have to tell you some things:

    1) After reading the conversation it sounds like John blamed you for lying and said everything you said is a lie, you haven't responded to what he told you in the chat, you need to show or prove what you did wasn't a lie for you to get paid! (I am saying it for your benefit so you can get paid your $12,000)

    2) On the other hand indeed the fact they haven't taken off another site you pointed out in the end of the conversation and him telling you to not tell you how to do business doesn't really make him look good neither.

    3) In general, I really hate the way John was talking to you, unless of course if you lied I would do the same, because nobody wants to treat people who lie nicely, but if you didn't and until proven guilty he should give you the benefit of the doubt and treat you like a good customer.

    4) Me personally, after seeing the way you were served wouldn't sign-up with CPALead, I think this is unprofessional to tell people to walk away or to 'punish' them for contacting after 3 hours, this isn't the military here and affiliate network isn't a military base, so John, if you read this, put that in mind, there are so many ways to talk like human beings, your affiliates aren't your soldiers, remember that!

    That's just my 2 cents.

    Hello,

You were terminated from our network for violating our TOS. What you were doing was a huge violation and your account was disabled because of it. I can post proof of your offending sites here if you would like, but I don't think that needs to happen. We have a very strict stance on Adult content with our network, we can not tolerate that and risk damaging the relationships with our advertising partners.

Thank you for your report as well. We will look into it to determine if any violations are present.

    Thank you

Seems they not registered with BBB. But the next part of my history, I will send a list of sites to the cpalead advertisers, and other affiliate networks(where cpalead gets their ads) and show them where cpalead really promotes ads. I think advertisers and other networks don't know about real advertising traffic. But let's see results. I'll keep everyone up to date

Nevermind. Even I would ban you. You cannot use CPAlead on an adult oriented website, I don't even know how you got accepted though. That was their fault. But if you wanted to place CPA offers on your adult site, you should have gone with their sister site AdultAccessNow. They advertised it on the dashboard for months.

I have a huge list of websites that you did promote our Widget on. You were violating our TOS by promoting our offers on multiple websites with Adult content.

Hey jeremy, why you think that people so stupid here? The people here and in other forums smart and you're not able to cheat them all. In the chat John showed me real claims against me and he upload screenshot with referals (screencast.com/t/Am9Vl1WEA and copy here img217.imageshack.us/img217/7114/00000101.png). All people can read my chat transcript. I had only one site. You ban me for adult keywords in links, not for adult content. But in chat transcript a lot interesting... why you do not ban fake sites... Ah yes, i forgot "is not my place to tell you who is to be terminated and who is not"... I understand, at this time you try to wash your name. You start to lie here in public.. seems you forgot Troy story here with fake accounts... stop lie here, it will drive you into a trap

I think short list of your publishers also speak for themselves. http://cpaleadscam.do.am/cpalead-sites.txt (Especially the first link)

And John's phrase "This is not your place to tell me who is to be terminated and who is not." also speak for themselves.

And check of accounts in august to meet your TOS and have no claims regarding my site...and then ban me on payment day... also speak for themselves.

While I have yet to analyse if OP actually violated TOS or not, I really do not like that John's way of talking - sounds like a real jerkoff.

Why would CPAlead not fire his ass, I don't know, but then CPAlead has been doing lots of strange things lately.

Just out of spite, i would like to ask a question to John.

If he is that bad, why didn't you check his submission data prior to sign up? Surely if you had a link tracker telling you where the leads came from, what referral site. It seems only typical to me that you guys only decide to take notice when it comes down to pay day. I am just asking a question, i am not looking for a bashing match at all.

This is why most company bring in training nowadays, so they can work AROUND issues like this.

Thanks and i am looking forward to your input.
