i have lots angry german customers. they all fill surveys and none convert. please look into that. i think you advertisers are fooling you.

i got creat conversions on US and UK traffic but the extreme case is german users. they all try to do the surveys and none convert. and i must listen whatnot they call me.......

 

To be fair I have lots of happy german customers and they all try to cheat the survey by putting in wrong phone numbers in etc. If they complete the offers with the correct information they convert very easy. The germans still think they in world war II and wont give any info away lol

 

Has anyone noticed that surveys are showing up on their widgets that don't show up on the page where you can disable them? I have several of them on my widget that I want to disable, but can't because they aren't on the surveys page under the widget tab. I want all of my "free" surveys to really be free for my new project, but I can't disable certain ones that I want to disable.

I have submitted a tech support ticket a couple days ago and asked a couple of staff members about it, but they've only said that they received my support ticket, but hadn't heard of that problem before.

These are the names of the surveys:

How DUMB are YOU?
Which New Moon character are you?
Do you say LOL or ROLFMAO?
Which JERSEY SHORE member are you?

I don't know for sure that any of these charge people, but since they pay $2+ I assume that they might at least be very difficult to complete. Also, my widget has "Do you say LOL or ROLFMAO" showing up twice for two very different amounts of currency. (this is with the currency widget)

Yeah, I noticed the same thing. There were 2 surveys I wanted to disable that were showing up in my widgets but were nowhere to be found in the survey list for that country. I just assumed it would be a glitch that would be fixed eventually.

 

also noticed surveys on the gateway which dont show up in the feeds.
funny thing, these surveys convert best by far.

also jason, the conversion-ratio is still missing from the feeds. and the CSV feed still misses both, RATIO and TYPE

 

We did update both RSS and CSV to contain all 3, please goto feeds and make sure you're using the right URL

your RSS should look like this:

I don't like this too. I don't want the new surveys to appear on my widget without me knowing about them and enabling them. I'd like to concentrate all my traffic to one survey. Could cpalead create an option e.g. if you want new surveys to appear on your widget automatically or not.

I wasn't going to post anything, as I have to leave right now, but I'm just so dissapointed. I'll be out doing my work today wondering if I should convert my stuff to CSV or just stop screwing with these CPALead feeds altogether.

Why couldn't you have stuck with clean XML? Even RSS1, I don't think RSS2 even added those RDP style properties, so now the document says it's RSS2, AND Atom, and requires mutiple namespaces to parse?

GTFO it's a tiny data feed. I understand it's fun to play but here's the deal, if a normal, widely used XML parser chokes on it and refuses to recognize the properties, something has gotten far too kludged.

I would offer more "contstructive" criticism but I've got to go. You've broken the feed, SimpleXML can't parse it, apparently doesn't recognize the second namespace, and I'm not sure if it's got to do with cramming them all into one declaration, or not. Could even be my code but simplexml_load_file only tkes one parameter, and it's not seeing any of the new properties/subproperties/quasi-elements/whatever that syntax makes them.

I have a big problem regards payment ! ! I had recently got my payment via paypal 124$ as a Early payment of january !

But after 3 days i got a mail from paypal and saying that
@ we had reversed your payment from Cpalead as nw onwards Indians cannt receive payment as a @Personal payment or gift @ and if its nt a gift than ask ur buyer to attach as a good or service and send the payment again to recieve ! !

Now what should i do to get my money back ? ?

We left the original feed URL untouched. So you're more than welcome to keep that. We also did update the sample code that parses the new feed, and it does use SimpleXML as SimpleXML does have support for namespaces.

 

I would love this too!! I'm glad to see that other people noticed the surveys showing up on the widget that aren't on the page to disable them. I hope they fix it soon.

Well I'm glad I posted before I left then, as you saved me from having to track down the fact that there are now two different URLS, which also explains why inspection of the loaded feed in memory didn't show the same properties as being what I was seeing in my browser.

Scanning back I see you told someone to "check their URL" but that's a bit cryptic and really pushes onto us the fact that you switched URLS and didn't notify anyone. A mention, here possibly but FOR SURE on the CPALead site should note that there is a new URL? Or that there are options? Which feeds will continue to be supported in the future?

Anyways if you're out here trying to share the cutting edge with the active users on the forum it's great man, and I appreciate it, I always come off sounding bitter in this thread, heh, and I'm not really. But sometimes the years spent in QA get the better of me and I rant.

I ran the sample code, and it's all needlessly complicated. Multiple passes through the parser to load the child attributes, on top of the namespaces.

If you don't mind my asking (I won't be hurt if you don't address this), why the decision to add the layers to the feed when the XML itself is perfectly capable? It looks like complication for the sake of someone wanting to play with the toys. It's not really a syndication feed so RSS isn't useful, and then adding the atom namespace and the custom namespace to THAT is creating a boatload of overhead, processing waste, and inter-server traffic to no end.

I have to admit I don't know that much about SimpleXML caching of namespaces to answer this one:
Does that explicit call to the remote namespace when you use the 'children' attribute in SimpleXML use the copy of the namespace declared when the feed loads, or does it check once when the feed loads and then once again for every offer (inside that foreach) the call to $offers->children processes?

I'd love to stick consistently with XML across projects, if you guys added these properties to the clean XML feed it shouldn't impede anything that anyone is already doing with them. I'm just not adding all of the extra processing, or code to get the added stats.

Since the sample code doesn't really address accessing any of the data loaded via the call to 'children' and the properties are never really visible in a memory dump of the original feed (as parsed by SimpleXML) I suspect you're going to find that the new features cause you an increase in questions and other support issues as people are eager to access the data.

I'm intellectually curious and would love to chat about it, but the reality is I'll probably convert to CSV too and save any future maintenance time, complication, traffic and overhead associated with this sort of thing.

 

Does anyone know when the EP will be enabled again?
