To All CPALead Publishers / Gateway Users:

I am going to be posting a FAQ page on our web site that answers many questions I have seen here on Digital Point. Please let me know if you would like to see anything added to this list and if there are any questions I can answer for you (also any typos as well!). I believe this FAQ covers nearly every question I have seen in this forum. Please feel free to copy and paste answers from the FAQ to help out your friends here on Digital Point. Thanks again for all of your input!

Gateway / Premium Content Tool Frequently Asked questions

Please provide this link to your friends that may need help with or have questions about using the Gateway tool.

Why can I no longer see my own Gateway?

If you complete a survey on your own Gateway, you may not see your own Gateway. Anytime when anyone completes a survey on your Gateway, they will no longer see your Gateway unless they access your site from a different computer that has a different IP address.

I do not see any surveys on my Gateway tool or I see very few surveys, what is wrong?

Our Gateway tool only shows surveys available to your user’s countries, and this includes to you! If you are from Japan, you may not see any surveys on your Gateway while users in the USA will see USA surveys. This is just our tool only showing surveys that are available to your country - we have some surveys that show to all countries because anyone from any country can complete them. You can see all surveys that are shown to your visitors under the “Surveys” tab in your publisher panel.

Why does my Gateway appear behind the video?

Certain video formats may appear in front of the Gateway. There may be a fix for your problem. Try searching for a fix on forums.digitalpoint.com under the affiliate forum.

Where do I suggest new features for the Gateway? I have an idea I think you guys may like.

Log into your CPALead account and compose a mail to “Suggestions”. Please understand that we do not have time to respond to all suggestions, however all suggestions will be considered for our next Gateway revision. Our Gateway evolves from suggestions like yours.

When can I expect to be paid by CPALead.com?

We pay NET-30. This means we will payout at the end of the current month, for last month’s earnings. We pay via Check, PayPal, or Wire Transfer. Short delays may happen around American Holiday seasons depending upon the availability of our employees.

Can I add surveys from another CPA network to the Gateway?

No. Our Gateway currently does not support this option.

Should I disable most surveys except for a few highest paying or highest converting surveys?

No, this is not a good plan. Our surveys fluctuate hourly with the market. Conversions of surveys go up and down, and our Gateway tool automatically shows the highest converting surveys on the top. Surveys that convert well today, may not convert well tomorrow, and vice versa. So please keep a majority of your surveys active to adjust to the market changes otherwise you are likely to see a decline in your earnings.

    How are conversion rates calculated?

They are calculated by the Click to Lead ratio. If you have 1000 clicks, and 100 leads, the conversion rate will be 10%. Conversions are updated every 15 minutes from a 5 hour network-wide sample.

Why are the conversion rates so low for some surveys?

Some users may click on an survey and decide that they may not want to fill that one out. This counts as a click. Other clicks without leads may come from users filling out the survey with wrong information and our advertiser not accepting it, the user already completed that survey on another site, our advertiser not finding the information provided by the user useful or worth paying for, user may have Spyware previously installed on their computer (tools bars) that steals the advertiser’s cookies and maliciously replaces them with their own extension to steal the lead, user may have cookies disabled or ad blocker installed, and/or the user may not understand how to complete the survey.

A higher converting survey reflects a survey that is easier for your user’s to complete and requirements that are less strict from the advertiser. We do not doctor our conversion rates as you may see with other networks. The conversion rates you see are 100% true and accurate. Honesty is our best policy and we believe it is essential to longevity in our commission based business platform and our relations with you and our other publishers as well as our reputation on the message forums and blogs.

Can you add more international surveys?

International surveys are hard to come by and we are always searching for new ones. We have a full team dedicating to working directly with advertisers to get you the best deals and most diverse surveys. The more surveys we add to our system, the more potential for your earnings. We are forever working in your favor to increase your earnings as we only earn, when you do. Think of it this way, if we do not have a certain incentive survey, then it probably does not exist or no longer exists if it did.

My earnings are down today despite my steady traffic, why?

Your earnings will fluctuate daily depending upon the variables addressed in the “why are my conversion rates so low” question. Please keep in mind; we want you to have as many good days as possible. A bad day for you is also a bad day for us. Some top surveys we introduce to our system convert stellar compared to other top surveys that are good but not amazing.

Please do not judge the stellar surveys as average and our good surveys as below average. Rather our stellar surveys as a special survey, and our good surveys as great surveys. This is a more accurate way to judge the incentive CPA industry in general.

    When are new surveys added?

Monday – Friday from 12PM – 5PM USA Central Time new surveys are added.

Does your platform work with Google Adsense installed on my site as well?

Yes our Gateway Tool works fine in conjunction with Google Adsense.

What methods do some of your biggest earners use to make money with the Gateway?

Our biggest publishers purchase PPC traffic (such as Google Adwords) to promote videos that are protected by the Gateway. Others find unique content such as eBooks, music, files, pictures, information, and so on. There are hundreds of uses for our Gateway. Think about the sites you visit and are apart of and ask yourself, what would you personally fill out a survey for?

What are your future plans with the development of the Gateway Tool?

We are going to be coding the Gateway in an entirely new language that is compatible with all browsers and is a lot more stable. We are also going to be adding an admin panel with plenty of options to control how the Gateway works including the option to sort by EPC instead of conversions. Most options will be influenced by suggestions and ideas our publisher’s like you send us using our in-site mail feature. Expect to see some major changes in early 2009.

Do I need to send my tax form in before I get paid? Do I need to be a registered business?

You can still earn if you do not have your tax ID in, however you will not be paid until you have it in. We need these tax forms in the event that we are audited by the IRS. You do NOT have to be registered business; you can send us your tax forms as an individual.

I have more than one web site to use with the Gateway tool, how do I track each one?

You will need a separate CPALead account for each web site. Please contact your affiliate manager to setup another account with our network.

What type of web sites do you accept into your network?

We accept most types of sites regardless of how much traffic you have. We currently are NOT accepting any adult web sites or Get-Paid-To (GPT) web sites. If you are not sure if we will accept your site, just apply! It only takes a minute and you have nothing to lose. All information submitted in applications stays confidential within our network and is not resold.

How do I disable a survey from appearing on my Gateway? What is the affect it will have on my earnings?

Log into your CPALead.com account and click on the “Surveys” tab. There is a graphical switch icon at the beginning of each survey on this page. Click on the switch icon and when the light turns red on the switch, it means that survey is disabled. We strongly advise against disabling too many surveys, only disable a few.

Conversion rates change hourly and an survey that is doing bad now, might be doing great later, and vice versa. Disabling too many surveys will more than likely cause you to miss out on some great opportunities. We only suggest disabling a few top converting surveys, if you find another survey that has a similar conversion that pays more. And we only recommend doing this temporarily as the conversion rates change.

What sets your network apart from the other CPA Networks? Why choose CPALead.com?

We have the biggest selection in INCENTIVE CPA ads. Incentive means that you can encourage your users with our Gateway tool to complete our surveys versus other networks that will ban your account and revoke your earnings if you do so. Our network is also the first to introduce the Gateway tool and we always stay steps ahead of our under funded imitators. We also make our reputation public to the online world and we encourage public feedback.

If we are not meeting your standards, let everyone know. We are here to make you happy, and if we are not making you happy, then it is your right to let everyone know why. We believe this helps us overall as we strive in customer satisfaction and we work hard to resolve any concerns our publisher’s may have. Also keeping our ears to our publishers is how we evolve as a company.

Please visit us on the digital point forums at forums.digitalpoint.com under the Affiliate category. We encourage positive feedback as well! Let us know how we’re doing and let everyone know how you feel about us. We agree that if more networks were this open to the online world, then trust wouldn’t be an issue and ecommerce would be more of a safer medium to conduct business.

    Not entirely true.
Even dough my CPALead account says that the payment was delivered (it appears beneath, in a table). The actual payment hasn't been sent. My paypal account shows no new payment.

Hoping this will be solved soon, I'll post any updates.

    Bye!

Hey six.sigma, I'm sorry if I caused you any confusion! I hope that at the least, knowing the payments went out, got you able to realize something was odd for your side. Hope you don't shoot the messenger, or my am! joking :p

Troy that FAQ is awesome, I read it like 'ah, I asked that! haha that too!' and it makes me wonder if some of my questions were common ones or if I posed a sticky question (that stuck around). Pretty cool.

I wanted to ask about leaving surveys ACTIVATED, because I made more money in a few days than I made in most of October when I disabled every USA survey except for Who Did/Will You Vote For.

*BUT* I am assuming for now that I was very successful with that because it was such a well timed survey and well targeted to current affairs?

Did everyone do good with that one at the end of October/beginning of November? Was that a fluke and it led to my thinking I should 'find the gems' but maybe it slowed me down since?

I've been very careful, using the method I shared a couple pages back to 'find the gems' and in November I nearly doubled my October earnings. I started October 7th, so I DID have an extra week for November, but I don't know? I wonder if I only got my big boost from getting lucky with the election survey and ever since, otherwise.

Whatever the answer ends up, I can say this: When a survey DOES show up that is 'converting like crazy', I make sure its the only thing my users can click until it disappears or until new surveys arrive. I will activate a bunch of my surveys again and see if there is any difference, because I make way less whenever new surveys come, and then my earnings increase as soon as I remove them.

Also, is there a planned way to be able to block some advertisers' surveys when I feel they do not pay enough per lead? The way I mean that is it would be cool if I could type in a threshold like 'I am only willing to allow advertisers' who pay XX per lead to show anything on my site'. That would definitely make things easier for me, and it could also add some healthy competition for advertisers hoping to reach us publishers, think AdWords, sort of.

    Cheers and Best,
    Brian

I agree. I hunt around here trying to find the gems. It really is my way to disable every survey except a couple. A couple i KNOW convert. Because i am still convinced and always have been that some way or another really really really crap surveys reach the top.

What we need is for someone just to install a board over at cpaleads official website. Then we wont be scrambling for the answers here.

Don't worry. I appreciate your help and will to inform, thanks.
the problem is solved now; seemed to be a typo problem when the person in charge of sending the payments sent mine. Maybe that, mixed with the Paypal problem they had later, created some confusion.

In other hand, I use the same method as you; select only high converting surveys (based on my stats, not survey panel stats). Also selecting surveys that you see that convert high and pay well, usually, selecting only 3 of those surveys per "region" (country).

    Bye!

    Brian,

The Who did you vote for survey would have been at the top of your list whether or not you had surveys disabled, it was our highest converting offer at the time. So the higher the converting offer, the higher it will be on our Gateway. I am glad you found the FAQ useful, I will add more to it as time progresses.

Can you tell me why the surveys I upload do not run?

I shut every poll off and waited and still they did not run.

Whats the use of having the feature if it doesn't work?

This feature is only used with our Active Survey Display so adding your own surveys will not do you any good with the Gateway tool. The Active Survey Display is for web sites that would like to have their members fill out surveys for points or rewards.

Only the Gateway tool is made for premium content sites like yours. Our other tool, the Active Survey Display, is for online games that use an in-game currency. When users complete surveys, they earn X number of points, golds, gems, etc... View my signature for my contact information.
