I was hoping to get some feedback on this topic. My company is running a very successful affiliate program right now on a CPA basis only. We are exploring different ideas, of perhaps running a Per Lead type of program as well. Our commission for a sale is $100. If we also added a Per Lead option, would $1 be a sufficient payout for a qualified lead? What is the normal ratio from sale to lead?
1$ is not bad, but is not realy good either. I think you will get mostly webmasters that have bad quality traffic. I don't think that you would have sell ratio under 1:100. If you could get more quality traffic from your affiliates you could go with ppc also (5 cents per click). If you would choose ppc, I would recomend that you approve every sigle site that would want to be your affiliate. The best way is that you find couple webmasters (around 10) and you test which program would work best.
Do you mean PPC for the affiliate program? Or PPC for the actual product sales itself? We do have some PPC programs in place for direct sales. We have tested PPC for direct affiliate sign-ups, but 95% are websites that would never be approved.
when you are selling than cpa is the only way to go. It's the only way tha makes shure you will make profit.
Depends on the lead. If its free sign up a $1 works quiet well.. and if you are looking to make the money off it fast you should try getting on Domain Lagoon or EzyRewards with your Lead because $1 leads get lots of action there. Just gotta watch for fake sign ups
