CPA offers and international traffic

As I get involved with CPA, I see a lot of references to "US traffic only", and I see many of them will redirect international traffic to other completely unrelated offers (surveys etc).

Do these generate the affiliate any income, or is it simply wasted traffic?

I presume many of you do your own traffic filtering (in addition to any the PPC networks are offering you), and only show the US offer to US visitors?

I'm curious how this all works, and what strategies people have come up with to maximize the value of ALL of your traffic?

For example, if you are largely sending US-targeted traffic via PPC, that's fine, but what happens if your site is SEO'd, and starts drawing in other international visitors via the search engines as well?

Many times it can be "wasted-traffic" when the url is directed towards a CPA offer that is US traffic only and the user is international. But it all depends on how the offer is set up to handle the international traffic. For instance, in our system, most our offers are set-up so that international traffic will be re-directed to one of our offers that DOES accept non-US traffic and the affiliate will be credited with the lead that results from this. However, the conversion rate is not always the greatest considering, the user had clicked the URL with the intentions of going to that specific CPA offer, and the offer they are redirected to may not always be a similar offer. So that may throw them off. So it is very possible to monetize your international traffic, just look for CPA offers that allow all traffic or redirect to an international offer that will credit you with the lead.

    :)

Why dont these CPA networks show the offers intended for international users in first place (when the visiter sees the ads)? Or, why do webmasters place some hard coded offers on their websites which are not intentended for international traffic?

Thanks for the responses - I'll do some further geotargeting setup of my own I think.

Up until recently I've been running some MaxBounty CPA offers which are mostly USA only. Although my international traffic is less than 20% of my total it seems that a very high percentage of international visitors click the MaxBounty offers, resulting in them getting sent to a survey offer instead, which converts at precisely 0%. A very low percentage of USA visitors click. I think most of those offers have been overexposed in the USA resulting in little interest by the target audience.

I've since added geotargeting so I don't serve any of those MaxBounty offers to international visitors, instead showing them another offer or AdSense. Actually, I've stopped most of those CPA campaigns because they don't convert; they are just too overexposed.

    Hey There,
I understand ur concern,If these Networks r redirecting international traffic to completely unrelated offers that means they do not have the right system that allows this specific app:"A platform that is fully automated and recognize which offer type works better for your traffic,A Geo engine that automatically display the right offer for each country...That will optimize their offers to YOUR traffic, this is how every INTL campaign should work, should adapt to YOUR traffic."
    Then u r loosing out...
If you still did nt find the right Network we r what u r looking for,we existed since 2006 and are specialized in best international redirect for affiliate networks and we can help you monetize on non-targeted or lost traffic. We are also compatible with all major tracking systems.Just connect with me on Skype or AIM and we can sure let u make money on your wasted traffic....
