Maybe this is overkill, and I apologize if it is, but I have a site I've been wanting to monetize and have had much help (thanks everyone) understanding what all these acronyms stand for. But I want to clarify for future searchers and myself. I want to know:

    1. What they are
    2. Where to find good networks for each
    3. What situation calls for each option over another

Please correct me where I am wrong and add where you can. This will help me and many others if we can get some quality info here.

    CPA
    1. cost per action - you get paid when someone you refer takes some sort of action (fills out a form, signs up, etc)
    2. ClickBank, Commission Junction, etc
    3. You get higher pay and a SET pay per action vs getting paid regardless of actual sales

    CPM
    1. cost per millenia (or something) - you get paid a certain amount per every 1,000 impressions of that ad. NO CLICKING/SIGNUP/ETC required
    2. ?
    3. ?

    PPC
    1. pay per click - usually from the vendor standpoint - they pay everytime someone clicks their ad regardsless of the action AFTER the click
    2. Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc
    3. If you are the vendor, not the advertiser

    CPC
    1. cost per click - just like PPC - you get paid everytime someone clicks on the ad you are promoting regardless of their action AFTER the click
    2. Adsense, ?
    3. If you want a little bit of money (what are the ranges?) for clicks ONLY

    CPS
    1. cost per sale - very similar to CPA, cost per action. You get paid when the referring person buys something
    2. Same as CPA
    3. Same as CPA

Wow, sounds rude. Are all your 508 posts like that? I believe the thread starter wanted help with a list of good networks...
