Coupon code question

    Hi i have a adwords account which is nearly 2 months old. Now I ran a campaign and it ran for few days and it costed me some money. Now i tried applying some coupon codes(12 digit) to supress the money so that they don't charge my father's credit card. But i tried few codes which I bought from DP but i get error that "Signup offer limited to one per customer".
    so can i apply other working codes in my account which is older than 2 months.?:confused:
    some say coupon codes can be applied only to new accounts(less than 14 days) is that true?
