In fact, no Christians can be trusted because of something that happened 1000 years ago? You'll have to forgive me if I find that a bit silly. I live in a nation with many Christians and many Muslims and I highly doubt any of them concern themselves with some grievance from 1000 years ago, though I can only speak for myself.

The Taliban have many problems. They kill those who do not follow their rules, Muslims, Christians, Atheists, everyone. Their rules are not from the Qu'ran, yet they claim they practice the "true" Islam. They treat the women of Afghanistan as slaves and prevent them from educating themselves. They use lies about Islam and Allah to indoctrinate muslims into becoming murderers of other Muslims, women and children. They may not allow people to practice other religions, but they save their worst treatment for their fellow Muslims.

I've read many a book. Educating yourself is the best defense against those who would take advantage of your faith.

Why do you worry about it? By your own admission, they do not practice Islam properly and kill, torture, and maim their fellow Muslims in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Of the two, at least the US makes an effort not to kill non-combatants. Why would you cheer on those who pervert Islam and murder our fellow Muslims?

I think you need to revisit your history books. Russia's loss in Afghanistan was not the cause of their demise as a nation. It was simply a conflict they found to be too expensive to continue to wage. This was due, in no small part, to the money the US was funneling into Afghanistan to hinder their progress.

The very large difference between the Russians and the Americans is that, no matter what the outcome of this conflict, the Americans will be leaving Afghanistan. Period. It is something you should personally consider as a Pakistani. When the Americans leave, if the Taliban are left in charge, they will work with renewed effort and strength to destabilize Pakistan.

If the some flavor of the current Afghanistan government is left in charge and retains power(with Sharia law by the way), the oppressive elements of the Taliban will be put down, making life easier in Pakistan. It seems to me any proper Muslim would be cheering on the US in this conflict. It seems to me any Pakistani with common sense who wishes for the success of their government would be cheering on the US in this conflict.

I posted the cartoons prior to converting to Islam, though in all fairness, I would still like to see the verse from the Qu'ran indicating that Mohammad is not to be drawn. This seems like something else some man has added to Islam. You still haven't posted the part of the Qu'ran that says we can not be friendly to Christians(Jesus). Most of my fellow Muslims respect Jesus as a prophet of Allah.
